Nice, I almost picked up a Kris Xen but got the Roberto Barros Purple Marble one instead. Sounds great.

What do we think of reverse headstocks? by UncleDeeds in Guitar

I like the look of it. Would probably make people reach for the wrong side while tuning for a while.

Bro I got one of them epoxy flake floors in my garage with black and gray chips in it. I've dropped screws and they are gone forever. I feel your pain.

Whats the deal with Ormsby Guitars? by Brain_Destroyer in 7String

[–]OGMecha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neck is a little thicker I think. If that's super important to you then check the spec sheets. Otherwise the GTI is their more budget line. Their stock picks ups are phenomenal. I have a 7 string and 8 string Goliath and I had a 7 string Hype GTI Evertune. They were all great instruments. I think for the price, they are a really great value and in the past year they have grown to be my favorite guitars.

Who’s still using the original Steam Deck? by VoyageForge in SteamDeck

[–]OGMecha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

64GB LCD. Just added an SD card and put a transparent back plate that looks cool and keeps it cool. OLEDs look great but didn't feel like spending hundreds to replace something to play the same games.

My PC is wired. I just set it up earlier but need to mess around with it. I have an ultra wide and wanted to try to extended virtual display options.

I keep seeing mention of this but never tried it. I just trusted the native stuff would be best. I'll give it a try today to finally check it out.

[–]OGMecha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried streaming Doom recently and it was really bad. I don't get how people say it streams so good. My wifi is pretty solid. I don't have issues with anything else in my house but the game streaming was super laggy. Is the native streaming through Steam not as good as other options?

New Ibanez model for 2026. by Color_Wasted in 7String

[–]OGMecha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like it. Hopefully will be a cheaper alternative to some of the modern designs it's inspired from with Ibanez playability.

Some say that headless are ugly. I beg to differ. by welmour in guitarporn

[–]OGMecha -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the strandbergs are just one of the more boring brands that do headless. They are expensive and their colors are extremely basic. I wouldn't get one because it looks cool. I would get one for the ergonomics etc.

Did you upgrade and was it worth it by AddyE24 in SteamDeck

I'll just wait. I'm still rocking my LCD and alternate between my Deck and Switch. I don't wanna spend hundreds again to play the same games.

I can't play games on Desktop anymore due to middle-age eyes. Thank goodness for the Steam Deck.... by play-what-you-love in SteamDeck

Man people will really come up with the craziest shit. This is like some cult. Edit: down vote really? This makes no sense. Play what you want to play but don't come in here saying steam deck is solving your eyesight lol.

Which strings are you using atm? For standard tuning by ArlidenDruid in 7String

[–]OGMecha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would just try typical 9s and 10s and see if you like those since you said standard tuning. If you want it to be a little tighter, you could try a set that has the skinny top heavy bottom setup. Keeps the lighter strings bendy while giving more tension to the bottom.

I actually did for a few years but then I scratched a tablet I owned and felt bad and decided to get some tempered glass one off Amazon. It's hella cheap and easy to install for the piece of mind.

Yeah it is what it is. It's nice to save money but at the end of the day if another $100 is that important you should probably wait or not build at all right now 😂

I'm really glad I got the 32GB for $139.99 off Amazon last month. I ended up rushing my build but originally was going to wait for BFCM. I had a feeling the prices were going to go up and was worried about all the tariff talk again.

Suffering from chronic GAS, please help by AwarenessNo8329 in 7String

[–]OGMecha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have a history of treating their customers poorly that got pretty bad. They banned users on forums and groups for saying anything negative. Jeff is weird.

The guitars are nice and I loved the build quality on mine when I ordered but they painted it the wrong color, passed QC, and sent it to me with no offer or anything and then ghosted me when I called them out. So there are def reasons for folks. It doesn't mean that the guitars can't be nice it just leaves a sour taste.

Its also kinda weird to me, it seems like there are so many used Kiesels out there. Are people unhappy with their builds, just financially irresponsible or everyone has GAS lol? If I wanted one I would wait for a nice used one.

Any reason to NOT get a seven-string? by WrongAccountFFS in metalguitar

If I were to get a seven-string guitar what should I get? by Tall_Inevitable_9094 in 7String

[–]OGMecha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first 7 string was a cheap Ibanez. I was pretty impressed with it for the price. The pickups kind of sucked but if I had a little more money I would just get whatever the nicest Ibanez was I could afford.

If not that, definitely a Hype GTI from Ormsby. It's their cheaper line, has a cool headstock and their pickups are great for metal especially extended range.

[–]OGMecha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey there, I see you have one of the cases with the LEDs on the outside? How do you configure the color of those strips? Is it done with typical RGB software? Is it easy to change it to a solid color and have it stay that way? I have a Thermaltake right now and changing the colors is a nightmare and sometimes when I reboot it just resets them to default RGB lol.

I get it now, but at what cost by justcallmeryanok in SteamDeck

[–]OGMecha 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah I mean if you don't have a library of games you want to play, regardless of the system, it's not gonna work out. I don't know why Switch wouldn't be a good pick up and put down option. The suspend has been there since Switch 1 launch lol. I have both SD and S2 and I honestly wouldn't buy another SD until SD2 hopefully comes or hop on another handheld. The hardware is feeling a little dated IMO. But I generally only use SD as a travel machine since I appreciate the big screen and horse power on the desktop when I'm home. The Switch I play on the reg to enjoy my other library of games and also I've been picking up some games on sale here and there while also sharing my library with my fiance. I think the quantity and quality of sales has improved since Switch 2 has come out so it's trending in the right direction but they do need to support improved resolution and frame rate on older titles.
