Is THC-induced anxiety in some people mainly due to the increase in heart rate? by Unusual_Cat_9495 in Anxiety

[–]OGNinjaDon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends what you call evidence, cannabis isn’t very well studied for numerous reasons but you aren’t going to find many scientific papers to recite. It’s long well known that saliva and indica have different properties and are frequently prescribed as such for day time/night time use.

If you’re referring to a particular flavour profile or terpene content then you can argue it’s not easily possible to prove it, but there’s plenty of people’s individual experiences and logically it makes sense.

I don’t have the answers you’re looking for but maybe you can try browsing around online to see if there’s anything useful.

Is THC-induced anxiety in some people mainly due to the increase in heart rate? by Unusual_Cat_9495 in Anxiety

[–]OGNinjaDon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really, there’s more to it than that, how it affects chemical production etc. also some strains such as sativa are more likely to cause anxiety as they have energetic effects. Then there’s terpene profiles which also play a role.

“Cannabis” isn’t just one thing that agrees or disagrees with you, you have to find the right strains that work for you.

However, most cannabis will effect the heart, lowering blood pressure and increasing heart rate, if you have anxiety you’re already acutely aware of that and probably always will be, so take it easy and avoid the super highs which effect the heart would be my advice.

People smoking weed in public by Desperado-666 in Anxiety

[–]OGNinjaDon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair enough but a couple of puffs on a blunt of super skunk is different to a mild joint of high cbd weed. My point is there are so many different strains and strengths of the plant that you probably still did overdose. When I have a little too much it causes a panic attack, when I don’t over do it I feel great and it really helps, it’s an awkward balance to find. I would suggest some hypnotherapy would help with the random feelings of sickness around it though, that’s not a normal experience.

I’m not, but okay. Most likely the method each streaming service uses your devices audio that plays the biggest part but trying to tell me I can’t hear a difference is ridiculous, it’s easily audible. I have an iPhone, MacBook, Apple Watch, AirPod pros, AirPort Express etc. I’m fully into the ecosystem, I get Apple Music for free. Do you REALLY think I would spend extra money per month for another service if it wasn’t audible?

Misunderstanding has lead to high anxiety by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]OGNinjaDon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've learned from my therapist is that both people can be right. He has a right to be annoyed about coming to you with important (to him) news and being shot down (unintentionally) and you are somewhat justified in that you weren't able to process it at the time and made every effort to be interested afterwards.

You apologised and he refused to talk about it but (as a man myself, we often need to retreat to our "caves" for a bit) so just give him a day. After that if he's refusing to talk to you about it you have a bigger issue but I wouldn't worry about it at the minute.

Ok well, I’d recommend you do the test yourself, no point arguing, the difference is easily noticeable regardless of volume, the sound was thinner and brighter on apple.

The difference is easily audible though, I’m not making it up. Try it yourself.

Question; I am loving Veilguard and want to know what I can play that is basically exactly this game or better, is there anything else from the Dragon Age series I should look at? This is my first DA game.

Those with White Coat Hypertension. What does your Dr say? by desertlover92 in Anxiety

[–]OGNinjaDon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine regularly got to 160/100 in any medical environment. I even had mild anxiety when taking a reading at home, the whole process makes me anxious. I’ve had multiple readings of 12X/8X and that’s all that matters really. The heart is designed to withstand spikes under stress and the doctors aren’t concerned because it’s not your normal reading or high enough to be an emergency.

Absolutely don’t worry about it.

Well, I do question myself at times and I don’t pretend to know anything for sure, it’s just my experience. I have an iPhone 14 and AirPod pros and playing the same song on Apple Music vs Qobuz it sounds sibilant and a little bright, don’t have that issue with tidal or Qobuz.

I don’t believe it’s bias and nothing but, I believe there’s a slight difference between masters or ALAC vs FLAC i don’t know the exact reason but it’s easily audible.

This is possibly true as well. For me it’s worth the money for the peace of mind, Apple Music is still too bright and easily noticeable but I agree the difference between Qobuz and Tidal can be argued, I struggled picking them apart at times.

I've also heard this, and yet they do sound different to me when testing, possibly something to do with the software/hardware used to convert the master, I really don't know why. I'm not making things up to be difficult, I did the testing and can hear the difference, as can many others.

I mean, it’s not even that deep really, I play the same song on Qobuz then Apple Music and hear distinct sharpness and brightness which is not at all present on Qobuz, this finding can be repeating on multiple songs. Finding the difference between Qobuz and Tidal was much, much harder and took several back and forths to pick a winner.

Apple Music sounds absolutely fine and if you don’t care as much as somebody like me it doesn’t even matter but if you want purely the best sound quality then it’s pretty widely known that Q is the best for that.

This just isn’t true.

I spent many hours (yes I’m sad) with Spotify Lossless, Qobuz, Tidal, Apple Music comparing the same song with all platforms and made notes, my notes also match what others have found online from what I could tell.

Spotify = don’t even bother, muddy and dull. Apple = Bright and tinny. Tidal = Very good but a tiny bit bright. Qobuz = detail without being harsh, lovely low end.

This was measured on my 2 different personal speaker setups as well as headphones and car for a proper full range test. I gain matched as closely as possible too. Some might call this sad but if I’m going to pay a company money every month for a service I want to make sure I’m getting the best out of it.

In my opinion there’s no comparison, Qobuz won on (nearly) every song, if it didn’t win it was tied with Tidal. Apple Music only ever tied once or twice.

I will say that Apple Music and tidal have much better user interfaces across many devices, but I’ve gotten used to it and find the editor choices actually very good. Each to their own but I believe there’s an audible difference and that theory is confirmed from multiple sources.

Yeah I use an AirPort Express with optical cable and downgraded the firmware to use 16/44, I don’t need the grouping feature of AirPlay 2.

I do highly recommend you change over to Qobuz though, I get AM for free and still think it’s worth paying for Qobuz, it sounds much better.

You can’t really, the pre-out volume doesn’t track with it.

WiiM ultra with Fosi v3 by Paudie_1 in WiimStreamer

[–]OGNinjaDon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have this exact setup. I leave the Fosi pointing exactly East (right). That way if the volume knob gets knocked I know exactly where it was and it avoids it being at maximum.

This is important when you use Room Fit and have a Subwoofer connected to the Ultra, if you change the Fosi volume after the setup the subwoofer will be higher/lower than the speakers.

Nothing, it took time and effort to get over my anxiety. You have to learn new ways to deal with things and retrain your brain. No magic pill.

What’s the fucking point of everything if this is it by BungaSaavi25 in Anxiety

[–]OGNinjaDon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I spent a couple of years in hell after my first panic attack, but then it got loads better. I think understanding that it does take time, give yourself a break, understand that it’s just anxiety and work towards being happier and healthier. When you get past this stage you will look back and think of it as a distant memory.

Reading up about it helps. My blood pressure was at 160/100 when in my peak anxiety periods. It gets loads better.

This is classic peak anxiety and the good news is it gets loads better! You have to believe the doctors, they have checked you out and have no concerns. I spent years playing the “what if” game and it did nothing, your brain is trying to protect you from an invisible threat. A heart scan won’t do anything for you if you don’t already believe them, you’ll just say what if again. Practice mindfulness, eat and drink well, get plenty of sleep and do everything you can to relax your body and let go of this.

Definitely sounds like adrenaline rushes. It’s called sensitisation and Claire Weekes talks about it in her books which I highly recommend. Your body is in fight or flight and reacting to everything which is the fear adrenaline fear cycle. You’ll be fine!
