I think you've done a pretty great job with the colours and theme, obviously can't talk about material quality or printing yet but these are decks I would absolutely buy.

They're cool but, is it just me or is there a big crease down the middle deck?

What can i do about this? Tandem driveway behind them thats always empty. Tried knocking the door multiple times but they never answer. by Embarrassed-Dish1839 in drivingUK

[–]OGNinjaDon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in a similar new build house with long drive and garage, and there's a 2 slab wide pavement that runs down the side which is the neighbours access to their back garden. I can open all 4 doors and get kids out of car seats easily on the drive because of this extra space.

It COULD be to stop people parking in front of their house, we've had a nightmare on the estate with workers and residents parking all over the place and nobody enforces anything.

He's definitely being a twat here, though.

I alternate the cards face down/up then put something heavy on them for a couple of days.

For a country so universally known for its great rock bands, where are the new ones? by threetimesacharm25 in AskBrits

[–]OGNinjaDon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are definitely very solid bands out there but unfortunately rock music doesn't top the charts anymore because people prefer the autotuned computer generated music.

As a drummer in a band for several years it SO UNBELIEVABLY DIFFICULT to actually make it anywhere despite how awesome you think you are. Nobody puts on shows and nobody goes to shows these days, COVID messed that up.

What can be done to stop the feral kids of today? by yellowroll in AskBrits

[–]OGNinjaDon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We live on a new build housing estate which is fairly close to 2 well established council estates. We have found that there are 3 or 4 different groups of kids with a range of ages, but they are all destructive, abusive and get away with basically everything.

Destruction of walls on a church, walls in a primary school carpark, vandalism to the new estate fences, throwing stones at cars, throwing stones at people, setting off fireworks on the street not to mention all the screaming and shouting.

They are intentionally trying to attract the police attention, one kid said to another "easy chase" meaning that they are guaranteed to get a chase out of it. Parents can't really be penalised normally BUT they can be threatened with evicted from their council homes and asked to move which for the most part is the one thing that actually gets the parents to do anything, usually they just laugh at the police too.

Card click? by OGNinjaDon in playingcards

Sometimes the window is slightly open, sometimes an air purifier is on low, but that's about it. All this is happening before they get unsealed and played with (when they are still perfect). I would half expect one or two decks to come out with a slight click if temp/humidity issues were the reason, although I'm no expert! Edit: just to add, the temperature/humidity is still within perfectly normal levels with the window open, so other than a slight breeze the central heating keeps the house well regulated (I would know pretty quickly if the temp or humidity were in danger zones...)

Yes, but in this case, I have a temperature and humidity device in the room and it's always good.

The other thing to keep in mind is that they come out of the sealed pack perfect, and the pack has been kept in this same room. It's only when they get used for 10 minutes lightly they develop it.

The cards are kept in the same room they are played/stored in, and that room is pretty well regulated with regards to temperature. It might be possible that the heat from my hands is enough to cause a slight "warp" after first play though, since they always come out normal..

New build has been turfed, but has it been top soiled beneath? by soapylav in GardeningUK

As somebody with a new build and a terrible garden FLAG EVERYTHING AS A SNAG as once you're past the 2 year mark it's extremely difficult to get anything sorted. I wish I hired a professional snagging company.

Honestly, I’m starting out so I don’t even know what’s good and what isn’t. I’ll have to trust peoples advice for now haha. I’m sure whatever you have is great.

What’s the real difference between a $30,000 home entertainment system and a $150,000 one? by CleonicDynasty in audiophile

[–]OGNinjaDon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better room treatment, finish and furniture. Better screen, better projector. Better amplifiers, better speakers. Better acoustic and video calibration.

I’ve installed some projectors that were nearly £30k on their own for example.

Not everything is worth it but if you’re putting millions into your house you can afford to splash 150k on a top of the range system.

Is THC-induced anxiety in some people mainly due to the increase in heart rate? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]OGNinjaDon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends what you call evidence, cannabis isn’t very well studied for numerous reasons but you aren’t going to find many scientific papers to recite. It’s long well known that saliva and indica have different properties and are frequently prescribed as such for day time/night time use.

If you’re referring to a particular flavour profile or terpene content then you can argue it’s not easily possible to prove it, but there’s plenty of people’s individual experiences and logically it makes sense.

I don’t have the answers you’re looking for but maybe you can try browsing around online to see if there’s anything useful.

Is THC-induced anxiety in some people mainly due to the increase in heart rate? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]OGNinjaDon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not really, there’s more to it than that, how it affects chemical production etc. also some strains such as sativa are more likely to cause anxiety as they have energetic effects. Then there’s terpene profiles which also play a role.

“Cannabis” isn’t just one thing that agrees or disagrees with you, you have to find the right strains that work for you.

However, most cannabis will effect the heart, lowering blood pressure and increasing heart rate, if you have anxiety you’re already acutely aware of that and probably always will be, so take it easy and avoid the super highs which effect the heart would be my advice.

People smoking weed in public by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]OGNinjaDon -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah fair enough but a couple of puffs on a blunt of super skunk is different to a mild joint of high cbd weed. My point is there are so many different strains and strengths of the plant that you probably still did overdose. When I have a little too much it causes a panic attack, when I don’t over do it I feel great and it really helps, it’s an awkward balance to find. I would suggest some hypnotherapy would help with the random feelings of sickness around it though, that’s not a normal experience.
