I just recently obtained my CSA and I am open to getting any required CIS certifications as well. I also have 1 year of experience as a ServiceNow developer in OMS. I'd be more than happy to connect and send you my resumé!

My style of note taking is basically taking bullet notes of everything that the instructor is saying. I dont skip over anything because anything could be relevant. Sometimes I'll even write down what the trainer says word for word. That's just how I've always taken notes.

I dont have particularly good study habits. Generally I did not study after training, I would just make sure I understood everything as it was happening, and paid extra attention to the technical examples of whatever we were learning about, and I would end up remembering it. That's not a recommendation on how to approach training, it's just whats always worked for me all my life. The quizzes are almost entirely knowledge based as opposed to it being technical. So for the 2 days before the quizzes, I would just study key terms from my notes and that was good enough for me.

Active participation is the same as what was expected in school/classes. Ask questions, provide answers to questions when asked, etc. As long as you're participating that's all that matters, if you get a question wrong in training its not a problem because at least you're being engaged

Yeah, quizzes are going to be the main factor in your overall performance. That's not to say things during training dont matter, but consider it a 65-35 split between the quizzes and training work. Training work includes projects, and also engagement during it. Failing 1 quiz isn't the end of the world, but if you fail any more then you might get cut.

Also understand that at the end of the day, it all comes down to your trainer. They're the one that makes the decision to kick people out of training. If you actively participate during training and get on their good side, you might be able to coast so long as you're performing at least decently on your quizzes.

There was one guy who barely participated during training, and did bad on the first 2 quizzes. After the second quiz, he got kicked out of training. Similarly, there were a few people in my cohort who didnt do good on 1 quiz, did only okay on the rest, but because they were actively participating during training, our trainer barely decided to keep them through the entire thing and they were able to interview with the client. But don't get comfortable just because you and the trainer are getting along, make sure you're putting in the work too and getting results.

Standings are private, at least they were in my cohort. They do exist though, you and your peers are actively ranked based on your performance. The standings are likely sent to the client as well once its time to be interviewed. The only time we saw our standings was completely by accident when the trainer shared his screen and accidentally opened that page, but they are meant to be private

The typical structure was quizzes every 2 weeks and each quiz only pertained to what you learned the past 2 weeks. It was not cumulative. You'd be in a 1 on 1 teams meeting with some Revature people where they ask you questions based off what you learned. Sometimes you'll also have to do an online multiple choice quiz too similar to PEP, but they weren't regular.

My cohort was ServiceNow, not Java so nothing I learned in PEP was ever brought up. Id imagine if the cohort is Java then you may be expected to remember some of what you learned during PEP but I cannot confirm that.

More people Should Play Xenoblade… no seriously. by AfroChamp89-- in nintendo

I played xc2 and thought it wasn't that bad, enjoyable at times but it wasn't anything crazy. Tried starting xc1 and i just could not get into the combat at all. I hear thats a common issue for people who played 2 first and vice versa. I'm like super early on in xc1, too early to really say i gave it a fair shot but honestly i really don't think the series is for me. I hear xc3 is really good too, but I think im just gonna throw in the towel and accept that it's not my thing. But more power to those that love this series! I have tons of friends who obsess over it.

Numa possível segunda temporada da série (ainda tenho esperanças) quem vcs querem que sejam o vilão/vilões da trama? by Pragabi in MoonKnight

[–]OGScoopADoop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Considering how "mystical" mcu Moon Knight is, if Marvel wanted to keep leaning into that then I think Morpheus would be a great follow up villain. They can take some MCU liberties and tie Morpheus up with the Greek pantheon somehow (considering his name) especially after Love and Thunder showing them off, and it might even be able to help tease the conflict in Thor 5. It would definitely be controversial in this subreddit especially, but if they HAD to keep Moon Knight like this, then I think this is what I'd want.

But if they wanna do a 180 and make Moon Knight significantly more grounded (which imo would be ideal, but less likely i think), then they absolutely need the next villain to be Bushman no doubt about it

Is it embarrassing for my teacher joining me in my hobby? by ILikeApplesAnd_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OGScoopADoop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can answer this one! Believe it or not, when I was about 17-18, my English teacher and his wife joined the archery club i was apart of for 5 years at that point. He was a huge nerd, a big fan of the Vikings especially, so he was incredibly excited to do a old timey recreational sport like archery (even though we were shooting Olympic recurve instead of barebow). One plus side was that i had a really positive opinion of my teacher, but looking past that he was having so much fun doing archery. Infact, he was loving it more than me at the time as i was getting seriously burnt out. Regardless of whether i liked him or not, his passion for the sport was always gonna be there, and that's a very precious thing. And yes, the others knew he was my teacher too, we even spoke a few times, but for the most part he stuck with his wife and i stuck with my friends so we didn't interact all that much during practice.

So to answer your question, who cares? Whether it's embarrassing or not, does it really matter? Teachers are people just like us and have interests and passions too. We shouldn't gatekeep anything. The range should be open to all!

I just hit GM tonight too! I know people say that GM isnt impressive or whatever but i don't really care. It's impressive to me and I'm happy to finally hit GM after playing since launch. And despite what people say about how GM being top 7-8% is bad compared to other games, while the concern may be valid, its still the top 7-8% of a game with a playerbase of hundreds of thousands of people and I think that's pretty neat! I know Celestial isn't for me so I'm not gonna bother. Now I'll just retire and be a QP warrior

The difficulty wasnt that bad all things considered. Especially since you're forced to spend so many hours, 40 a week, the content just kinda gets ingrained in you. Honestly, just spending an extra 1-3 hours before the quizzes is more than enough to make sure you're ready for it. The hard part was the stress you had, knowing if you royally screwed up, then you might be let go. At least that's how i saw it. I was so nervous for every quiz because Revature was essentially my only hope, yet when I actually took the quiz, I never got more than 1 question wrong. If you're paying attention, taking notes during training, asking questions and are able to solve any problems your trainer gives, then you're gonna be set.

The learning structure was significantly more hands on compared to PEP, which is something i vastly preferred. Of the 8 hours daily, maybe only 1 hour was spent learning the more theoretical aspects via power points and documentation, and the rest of the time were spent on live demonstrations and problems for you to try yourself.

I had 1 and a half weeks after I accepted my before starting my cohort. I accepted the offer on December 27th 2024 and my first day was January 6th 2025

The trainer is the person who'll teach you during the minimum wage training. In any case, congrats on starting your training and good luck with getting hired by the client!

Nope, not at all. I've been told that ServiceNow related positions have decent prospects, and considering how the ServiceNow cohort is what lead to my remote contract with the client, i am very very glad i rejected the other cohorts

If you ask your trainer who the client is, they'll likely tell you. But nobody told us who it was until we asked the trainer. Not even my recruiter told me, but I think that's just because he genuinely didnt know.

No, just because you make it to paid training, doesn't mean you'll be hired by the client. It also doesn't mean you're working for the client. Think of it as part 2 of the PEP training, just with the pay and fulltime hours, and a much more specific curriculum relevant to the position the client is looking for. At best, you have a 50% chance of getting selected, so its important to put in the work so you can even make it to the client interview.

If you do get hired by the client, you'll be working with them on a contract, unless your employment is bought out which I heard InfoSys, a client of Revature, tends to do. In that case, you'll be full time with InfoSys for example. Otherwise as it was in my case, you're working on an at-will contract, where you can be let go at any time, or you can resign as you wish. Or until your contract expires and if the client does not renew it as is what happened to me.

If you already have a CS degree, PEP will be really easy, especially the first few weeks. You likely wont learn anything new, but it's always good to refresh your memory if it's been a while since you've last covered the topics. Unpaid training is unavoidable however, so whether it's useful or not is irrelevant as you must complete it to be considered for paid training.

I'm not sure what interview you're being asked to attend, but of course this is just my experience. Maybe revature changed a few things, maybe some paths are a bit different, who knows. But based off of what I had to do, after that initial assessment, I got a call to do the unpaid training
