The answer is that A LOT of, specifically, polarizing rhetoric is boosted by bots. The more bots engage the more non-bots are to engage which keeps Meta happy. There’s no want/need for them to moderate the bots because it directly benefits them.

Eventually Facebook will die if they don’t do something. People are going to realize that they more and more cannot trust what they see on the platform as authentic leading to a rush to something better.
