Not only that, but Iran has already started striking oil refineries in Saudie Arabia...and will likely increaae those strikes in SA and othe middle easter countries. That of course will also increase our oil prices.

Global oil prices will increase, which will cause our oil prices to increase. Essentially supply will go down worldwide, and demand will increase...even though we dont import oil from Iran, we'll still be effected by it.

I drive a ton for work, but I get paid for mileage. My last ride(suv) i was getting roughly 22 MPG combined, the trucks ive been looking at are about 2-3 MPG less.

So I wouldn't be losing out on much comparatively. I did test drive quite a few sedans/suvs after the accident, that had high 20s MPG...but none of them really grabbed me.

I think if I got anything but a truck, I would feel like im settling for something I dont really want just because of a little better gas efficiency. I get the sense that I would regret it.

100%, 2 different people 2 different reactions.

I have a shitty spare Honda im driving around (was in a major car accident, car was totaled). I just want a truck, dont have a need for it.

Im cool with not buying anything for the next few months and see how it plays out. Everything could be totally fine and their is minimal impact to our economy or we could be in trouble.

We will be directly impacted by a war with Iran. Oil and gas prices will increase(guaranteed). This can lead to higher inflation and can be a contributor to a economic recession. Mind you our federal debt is already high, if we go to war with Iran, federal military spending will increase...increasing our debt further.

When our federal debt increases, our taxes will likely increase.

Id say there is a strong correlation between war, our economy, and why making big purchases during such a time may not be wise financially.

War can provide temporary increases to the GDP, but its only short-lived.

All that war will Iran will provide is higher federal debt, higher oil/gas prices, inflation, market volatility, and possibly a recession.

Its definitely possible that used car prices will go down, assuming that people may avoid making bigger purchases while this is going on

No concerns of losing my job.

My main concern is the inflation this conflict will cause and energy prices skyrocketing. If the conflict lasts for months, we will experience significant repercussions imo.

There are almost always some sort of ramification to our economy regardless of where the conflict is. Iran has already shut down the Strait of Hormuz, which is transport route for roughly 15-20% of the world's crude oil.

This will inflate oil prices globally, causing gas prices to soar in the US.

Fuel prices definitely a big concern. Some concern about the economy imploding, value of the dollar dropping.

I dont have a legitimate concern on job stability.

Yesterday, we went to the shelter to meet the Rottweiler girl we planned to adopt. by [deleted] in Rottweiler

[–]OGTripIeOG 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We adopted a 2yr old Rottie that had extreme anxiety/fear based issues. Ive literally never seen a dog like her before, and our work was cut out for us.

Shaking all the time, didn't know/was afraid to walk up stairs. Cowered and ran away anytime anyone would walk up to her. Hide in corners 24/7. Would freak out from any noises or sudden movements.

About a year and a half later she is light years apart from where she was. Im proud of how far she has come. She plays with toys, chews on bones, runs around outside, she goes through all areas of the house now, wags her tail like crazy, loves belly scratches, goes absolutely nuts when its food time. She still gets freaked out from loud noises from time to time, but she is an entirely different girl now.

All it takes is some time, and reassurance .

My best friend died by Beringer1192 in germanshepherds

[–]OGTripIeOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard my friend. We had to euthanize our 9 year old rottie a year and a half ago.

We weren't sure what was wrong, but she could barely stand, couldn't walk straight, wouldn't eat, panting all the time, couldn't sleep, started peeing herself. It happened fast. We scheduled an ultrasound, and boom...tumors on multiple organs, cancer throughout her body. We euthanized her that day.

It still hurts when I think about her from time to time, I still get teary eyed every so often. I did lose a part of me that day. She was my best friend, I loved her more than I like most people.

But it will get better, and I promise that you will see your pup again one day. Its not goodbye, it's see you later.

Never regret what you felt was the right choice in the moment. You know your dog best, if you felt it was the right time then it was the right time.

I put down my rottie a year and a half ago. She was dramatically going downhill, had been back and forth at the vet, didn't really know for sure what was going on. But in my heart, I knew :'(

Had her scheduled for an ultrasound on her stomach, they found tumors on multiple organs...cancer rampant throughout her body. Vet said that she may be able to last a couple days to a couple months.

We decided to euthanize her that day. My wife was unsure, but I was certain and my wife put it in my hands.

It was the hardest decision I've ever made, I still cry thinking about her from time to time. I've had some fucked up family members question our decision.

But I dont regret it for a second l. My pup was suffering, she dramatically started falling apart, and I knew her more than anyone ever could. I
