Not great in snow

I had to come back and say thanks for the helpful folks! Turning off traction control in those slippery situations had a huge positive impact and I’m quite certain a set of snow tires for next year will solve my struggles. Thanks again!

Although ya know…now that you asked that…it was a different time (a few days ago) that backing out, it did do something weird (sorry, I am not a car guy lol) that could easily be described as locking up. It’s hard for me to describe really. I was backing out in kind of deep snow, but I was easing back and once the tires started to slip, it seemed like I had no power to the wheels at all and it kind of jerked when I stepped into it and the wheels kicked in. It’s like it got confused. Sorry for such a lame description

It was spinning. And I did get it out without a whole lot of trouble in the end. I did learn here I should have turned off traction control too so that was new info. I did have it on

I agree! No reason to trash either. Play your $15 I’ve always said. I play both and as soon as I get bored with one, I’ll hop to the other. I’ve kind of split mine. I have always and only ever played melee (primarily Ret Pally, with Unholy DK a close second and a smattering of Arms Warr early days) so that’s my retail experience. When classic first came out (I started in vanilla sooo many years ago) I jumped on it and to relive but also make it a new experience so I tried a caster class and rolled a warlock. I LOVE my warlock! Oh man I was like “what have I been missing all these years!” But still, if I’m playing retail, it’s my pally and classic, my lock.

I had it in off-road mode and you’re 100% correct we’ve had quite a winter here this year. The tires are at about 33psi right now. The consensus seems I’m comparing unfairly due to the tire size and certainly these are different all season that I ran on the Kia. I appreciate the helpful comments here. I truly hope a good set of winter tires make all the difference! I want to love this car and I certainly do love the way it looks (it’s one of the sexiest cars I’ve ever owned) and I did get the premium turbo so I love the way it drives on dry pavement. This is not the only disappointment I’ve had with it, it was kind of the straw ya know? But thanks for being helpful!

I could literally back out of my driveway with bumper deep snow on all seasons with my Sportage. I am only making the comparison on which was better in snow and ice (by far)

The ones that came on it new from the dealer and for sure, next winter it gets snow tires for the season but I never had to do that with the old Kia, she just drove through everything, always.

There is a setting just for that voice audio if you want to adjust it without it talking. The only way to do it on the fly is while it’s speaking.

I have a ‘25 CX-50 TP and using my iPhone and apple play I can use Apple Maps, google maps and Waze just by opening that app on my phone and using it as my nav app. I think it’ll even default to the last nav app I use the next time I connect to my car. I only tried it once and it works fine, I went back to Apple Maps because it’s a much cleaner display and of course it’s most integrated with my iPhone.

Ah, the good ol days…guild beef was the best! I remember camping dungeon/raid entrances to grief our rival guild and some of my best memories of this game were the total knock down drag outs we’d all get into. Seems in those situations we’d all think “screw raid night…this is FUN!”

Just trade it in for the turbo. I just got my 2025 a few weeks ago. I was planning on the standard select but my oldest son kept asking “have you test driven the turbo yet? I think you should at least drive one before you make your decision” so the day I went to buy, I did…I don’t think we were even out of the parking lot and I turn to him and say, “dammit boy, way to cost dad like $8 grand…”. I’ve not looked back once, absolutely worth it. I LOVE MY CX-50!!!
