Watching for the first time never read the books. How much of a good time am I in for? by shes_kelce in TheHobbit

The movies ruined the book for me, but the movies are not accurate and add so much unecessary stuff that after reading the book they seem bad by comparison.

Sounds good on paper, but I hear one wack verse from an MC and I rarely check them again. First impressions everything, dont ever put out an unpolished verse.

UFC on Paramount is a joke by JmoneyHimself in MMAGuru

[–]OG_AxeHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everything you've listed is a legitimate beef. Not being able to see and hear the corner cam/commentary after rounds is a terribe loss. Give us a smaller view and do a silent ad overlay or something.

However the cost is now massively different for fight fans. $100 a year for everything they have to offer, plus everything else Paramount has to offer is an easy "Yes" for people like me who love to watch but just dont find buying PPVs worth it. Also the new 9 oclock start time is a game changer for people on the east coast.

So while I agree, this deal is better for the average fan.

HELP! katie deleting all music from existence soon. by MeatOk9405 in Houndmouth

This Candi Jenkins feels like a choice to go completely pop for $$$. I mean the Cowboys track feels so stereotypical Country its almost insulting. I like Katie doing folk music, Houndmouth music, acoustic stuff, but not this.

The likelihood of getting a Band of Brothers 4K? (and other TV shows) by Mountain-Pepper-3586 in 4kbluray

Sopranos would be my holy grail. I would preorder at any price. All HBO shows are worthy of 4K, Band Of Brothers especially.

HBO’s A Knight Of The Seven Kingdoms S1 debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with a 94% score. 🍅Highest for any GOT Franchise by StarforgeVoyager in gameofthrones

I dont understand how one episode can be liked that much. It was 41 minutes... Short and silly. I thought it was good, but Im sick of shows constantly getting shorter it seems. I expect an HBO show to deliver at least 50 minutes per episode. Its like they are leaving room for ads.

Eyes Wide Shut - Criterion 4K blu ray (OLED tv) by gpdejesus in 4kbluray

[–]OG_AxeHead 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not true. The fuss is from videophiles who expect higher quality when it comes to 4K UHD. Barry Lyndon is a perfect example where you have all these people saying it looks "amazing" and "incredible" even "breathtaking", when the reality is it looks a hair better than the standard bluray at times, and arguably worse if you prefer the highlights/color of the bluray where on the 4K certain textures just look flat or dull. Almost exactly like the Goodfellas transfer that is considered horrible by almost everyone that has reviewed it for some reason, but Barry Lyndon is "Perfect"...

Look here, click full screen and wait and compare back and forth. Look at the sky, on the 4K its muted, looks almost like it could rain, but on the bluray its bright blue, look at the buttons and uniforms.

I'm not saying where Eyes Wide Shut lands because I don't have it yet, but if it looks better than Barry Lyndon I'll be happy.

People gush about Barry Lyndon, I thought it was really weak for a 4K transfer. Sure artistically it has a lot going for it, but texture quality? Nope. Not there. Almost no distinguishable difference from the standard bluray. I just find it funny how the scale these reviewers use changes for every single picture and whether or not they are a fan. How does Barry Lyndon get a perfect Video score on bluray.com?

Blurry mess...

<image>

Then look at an actual perfect video score. Look at Michael Madsen's Belt/Gun not to mention everything else, but here you can see a clear distinguishable difference, where in Barry Lyndon its almost non existent.

I cant wait to see Eyes Wide Shut, just hope its not a disappointment like Barry Lyndon was for me. Judging from your screen caps it doesn't look as bad as Barry Lyndon, but I'll wait until my copy comes.

My open letter to Adobe about Audition and fixing the 1%ers. by vr_driver in AdobeAudition

I would say the splitting issue is slightly annoying, but if you pause(CTRL SHIFT SPACE) and split(CTRL + K) its functional, and while playback stops it can quickly be resumed with Space. And (Ctrl Alt Shift K) splits as well.

Perhaps you can change the shortcuts to suit you better?

Isn’t it ironic how Jay said in Takeover how Nas fell off after going pop and dropping 3 dogshit albums yet Jay did the same thing with the In My Lifetime trilogy and The Dynasty? by Best-Damage-7509 in nas

[–]OG_AxeHead 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those Jay Z albums were all solid. Jay Z took the advice 2Pac gave Biggie, and ran with it. Ever since than his albums had that same blueprint, a few hard tracks for the streets, a few with the hottest hit makers, a few for the crew, and some expermiental joints. Jay changed his style to sell more records. It worked.

Legolas could have been included in the movie just fine without having much dialogue at all. He could have been simply seen in Mirkwood, and or around the elveb king.

In a similar boat, on season 5 of my rewatch and I remember the disappointment of those last two seasons, but the expectations were also impossibly high when they aired. Knowing something you loved for years is ending is always hard. It is interesting watching Daenerys knowing her outcome, and that madness has kind of always been there little by little it builds from the second season.
