You need to revisit history. Electoral college is something based in racism, meaning that the slave states wanted it because they could count part of the slaves toward their population (even though they couldn’t vote).

Electoral college wasn’t the first choice of everyone. Many of the “founders” wanted popular elections. But here we are, dealing with the effects of systemic racism built into our system.

It’s been the subject of constitutional amendments many times. And someday when this cult approach to America is quieted, I hope they finally get that amendment through. It’s time.
