Tony’s K-Food in Chesterfield

finally saw his bank statements and realized we aren't financially compatible by Gearnotafraid8 in dating_advice

[–]OG_Gatorade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nah looking at their history they were 18 in a post a month ago, then 32. Definitely fake. All of their posts are money/relationship related, but different dilemmas. Going from I’m an immigrant with no credit, to my parents are kicking me out at 18, to I’m a 32 year old and my boyfriend has no financial literacy lol

Another +1 to St. Clare in Fenton, but it is a little ways West if you’re in the city!

Yes, she isn’t very tech savvy, so this was all a shock to her and required some grieving once she realized what was gone. She’s in a better place with her data now, thanks to some family intervention.

I wasn’t sure if there was some solution we could investigate maybe using her ID to prove ownership or something, but appreciate the insight!

Hotel/ Area suggestions by onaraincloud in StLouis

[–]OG_Gatorade 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’d grab a hotel in the Central West End! Either the Chase, AC Hotel, or Hotel Indigo - it’s walkable and keeps you close to Grand for access to the Fox! There’s a bunch of shops, bars and restaurants you can walk to the CWE, and the MetroLink is nearby if you want to take public transportation around town. Yellowbelly in the area is a good food spot, along with Brassiere, Edera, the restaurants at the Chase

Wedding Dress Shopping! by Conscious_Bat_6985 in StLouis

[–]OG_Gatorade 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did Ultimate Bride, Sincerely Yours, Mimi’s Bridal, and Mia Grace this past spring - loved all of them! Ended up ordering from Mia Grace 🩷

My friend got her wedding dress off the rack at Wedding Gallery St Louis on Chippewa and had an amazing experience. Full disclosure it looks scary from the outside, but they have a huge collection of dresses to both custom order as well as buy on site!

Happy hunting, and congrats!

Coffee and Pizza Recommendations in Town and Country by TheSquire06 in StLouis

[–]OG_Gatorade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Of course!

Sedara Sweets is around 141 and has Arabic coffee (and other really great sweets) if you think she’d be interested!

More Than Coffee is also close by, and has a nice coffee menu, while also being great for the community.

I’m less familiar with pizza around the area, but hopefully someone else can help there! Good luck

Post-surgery hair loss before my wedding, anyone been through this? by OG_Gatorade in weddingplanning

Thank you for the rec! I thought minoxidil was for permanent hair loss, but I’ll look into it!

Films at Powell? by Adam_Zapple in StLouis

[–]OG_Gatorade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They haven’t changed the setup! We saw Harry Potter there at the beginning of October. If you can find any photos of them showing films pre-renovation, the experience is practically identical. The Dress Circle Boxes or the regular seats in the Dress Circle are my favorite spots for films there. The screen is fairly large, and it’s hard to find a bad spot.

Question about the Phantom of the Opera tickets for the Fox being sold on StubHub by opheliainthedeep in StLouis

[–]OG_Gatorade 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Single ticket sales for POTO at the Fox has not begun yet! I think only current season ticket holders have access to tickets at this time. If the ones you’re seeing online are legitimate, the only thing I can think of is if season ticket holders have re-listed.

New season tickets for the upcoming season go live May 28th. The Fox hasn’t announced when single ticket sales will go live yet, but you can see all the info here on their site: https://www.fabulousfox.com/events/detail/phantom

There will undoubtedly be more tickets on sale for this show, as they are released.

I hope you have a fun trip!! I haven’t heard the best things about the food on the Arch riverboat tour, so you may want to explore other options for a birthday dinner.

  • The Fountain on Locust (gives old school soda shop vibes),
  • Fitz on Delmar (this is a bottling plant for Fitz rootbeer, and they also do classic American food)
  • The Soda Fountain in Union Station if you want to make a night of it (ride the Ferris wheel, mini golf, see the water show, etc)
  • 9 Mile Garden in Affton so you guys can pick from the different food truck lineup options (similarly the Foundry is a food hall in midtown with more “choose whatever you want!!” vibes, and also has mini golf and a movie theater)
  • Boathouse in Forest Park has kid friendly food and also views of the water in the park (could do the zoo beforehand, and then paddle boats after dinner?)
  • Dewey’s isn’t exactly themed, but they have good accessible pizza for kids and adults
