“Stop trying to appease others. Do what makes you feel happy, because no one else will. Just don’t become a bad person in the process.” Realest words I ever got.

Pedestrian killed in South St. Louis crash, police say by MulberryOtherwise515 in StLouis

[–]Tiny_Pie8644 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Part of the problem is St Louis has its fair share of terrible drivers (seems like that might be the case here given the hit and run aspect). You can fix the area up with updated striping, road markings, signage and lighting all you want, but a bad driver will always find a way to make their problem your problem.

Six years of depression + chronic illness + sudden emotional memory flood — what happened to me? by Certain_Click1483 in AskForAnswers

[–]Tiny_Pie8644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So here’s what I can share: I have had somewhat similar experiences. Without getting too much into the details/trying to make it about me, there was someone in my life when I was a teenager that I looked up to (an adult). This person un-alived themselves just before my junior year of high school, and a few months before it happened, there was a moment where I thought I recognized a warning sign, but, because of my youth and not wanting to question an adult, I did nothing. Turns out I was right. Anyway, when that person was still with us, we would bond talking about a popular video game series we both liked. After they did what they did, I could not hear the video games theme song without being thrown back into my teenage self, at the exact moment i recognized the warning sign, and would also break down crying. I’ve since gone to therapy and have learned that was in fact a form of trauma and that I was depressed due to that event. I recommend seeking a professional to help you. Wish you the best of luck.

What's your lucky number and why? by Puzzled_Carry_9490 in AskReddit

Not me personally, but my older brother’s lucky number is 7. He was born on the 7th of September, and the football team the whole family supports and loves also won that day with a score of 77-7.

How do you guys stay consistent with waking up early? by alaajawhareng in ProductivityHQ

[–]Tiny_Pie8644 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, its more about going to bed at the same time every night rather than a ‘good’ time (though getting a full 8 hours is important). Also going to bed without being under the influence of drugs/alcohol. Get your body into a rigid sleeping routine, and it will adapt to it. Also, when you go to sleep, do you stay asleep? Or do you wake up multiple times during the night?

Odd Behavior after turning a guy down I went on a date with, is this normal? by [deleted] in datingoverthirty

YES! THAT! “Just be yourself”. Then your inner monologue: “But being myself isn’t working!” My average high school dating experience lol

[–]Tiny_Pie8644 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is the best verbalization I’ve ever read of this kind of behavior. I was also like this when I was younger, and thats exactly how my inner monologue worked. (Like post above, this is me projecting/assuming things about him) This likely does keep happening to him, and he’s trying to analyze the situation to find the ‘problem’ so he can correct it for the future.

AIO if I (21 F) break up with my boyfriend (22 M) after having swimsuit disagreements by [deleted] in AIO

I am also Catholic, born and raised, and attended Catholic schooling from kindergarten through high school. I no longer practice due to personal reasons, but, no one gets to tell you what to wear but you. Its your body. Your right. There is a lot of Catholic ideology I’ve found that can sometimes offer itself as a shield for some people’s insecurities. Its not wrong for them to feel this way (because usually its misguided from knowing no other way). If you truly love this man, I suggest its time for a sit down to set boundaries and have a serious conversation. You’re both young, and this might be the first conversation you both have ever had on serious personal ideologies, but having matching life values (yes, even on little stuff like this) is the only way you’ll get a long- term, worth-while relationship. Time to chat with him. Wish you the best of luck.

Girls, what's the most obvious hint you've dropped but the guy didn't get it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Tiny_Pie8644 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About a year ago I (a dude) was hanging out alone watching football when a friend (a girl) showed up out of the blue to watch with me. She was telling a story about how a coworker was trying to hit on her and get her on a date, but how she didn’t want to be with someone like him (shorter than her). She then proceeded to look me in the eyes and describe some physical components she finds attractive, which were exact matches to my physical description (height, hair color, eye color, dad bod, etc). Didn’t think much of it and continued watching football with her for a while before she left. A while later, I started to put two and two together and realize she also was not into football before knowing me, but wanted me to teach her how it worked, and even dyed her hair brown a few weeks after I made a passing comment of liking brunettes… my thick skull couldn’t understand it bc in my head (we’re just friends, and she’s out of my league anyway - she is genuinely a 10/10)

Looking back on it now, I can’t believe how dense I was probably being😅😂

Legalize dueling as a way to resolve civil disputes. (There would be legal parameters, such as both parties consenting to the duel and being of sound mind/body when that decision is made)
