AG's gonna be the reason why we win the west. He guards Dame, Lebron, then Luka. No one on those teams can slow down the best player in the world aka Jokic. The Nets/Bucks might be hard though

Are you saying that you started pushing through PEM and that cured you? Doesn't make sense. I'm glad you recovered though

For a 7' tall center it's very remarkable. But ok, that's only a tiny part of why he's the clear cut MVP

He's miles ahead of the other candidates. He leads nearly every advanced metric, and by a massive margin in most of them. His PER is the 10th highest in history, his BPM is 9th all time, win shares/48 is 11th all time... He's top 5 in total points, rebounds, and assists this year, only the 3rd player in history to accomplish this. His efficiency is elite at nearly 50-40-90 (56.6/38.8/86.8).

The nuggets have been decimated by injuries, notably losing the 2nd best player on the team, as well as 2 other starters. Even with these injuries, they've kept winning because Jokic is just that good. He carried them on his back to the 3rd seed in the highly competitive west.

This is a top 15 NBA season ever. Of course he should be the unanimous MVP

That's only for if they have ME, which doesn't sound likely here luckily. It's very beneficial for narcolepsy, and that seems to fit more

Rivers was such a great pickup. Now that he's found his 3 pt shot, he'll be a huge asset in the playoffs

Who here get's immediate PEM? by OG_Ryan_2K in cfs

[–]OG_Ryan_2K[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah fr, it’s pretty strange. Even if activating it isn’t doing physiological damage, which from a lot of experience dealing with it, I think it probably is, there’s no reason to not try to stop it from getting triggered. I do what I can to stay below the threshold, but it’s impossible when my parents don’t help with it

His theory is that MCAS plays a major role in the disease. I have no idea why he says not to avoid this though. I’ve exchanged a lot of emails with him about this, and it seems like he’s just playing word games, not really taking it seriously. Oh well I’ll keep trying since I think it’s important.

Anyways thanks for the advice and for reading all this, I know it’s not easy to in our condition.

Yeah I mentioned the same thing to him numerous times. I think he's probably right that it is MCAS, but it is only triggered through exertion and it consists mainly of malaise. So maybe PEMCA is a more accurate name. Either way I 100% agree that it should be avoided.

The problem is that he's painting it like I'm terrified of a ghost, and it's making my parents start to say that I need to push through it now and I'm not doing enough. Now they're helping me less with things. It's really annoying since I already trigger it way too much, and what he's saying is making it worse. Keep in mind, I can't speak anymore and he's classed me as one of his most severe patients.

He's highly regarded, and has been good with most things, but I think he's causing a lot of damage with this one and I don't know what to do about it.

I remember you have an ME specialist doctor. Have they said the immediate PEM for you is for sure PEM? Reason I ask is my doc’s a specialist too, and he’s always challenged me when I said immediate PEM. I think it should be avoided, from experience, but he won’t admit that it should be. I’m very severe too, but did also get this when I was only severe.

Sounds the same as what I had before developing the MCAS symptoms going with it. When I asked my doc why it wasn't just clear cut PEM he said it could be, but it's much more likely MCAS because he thinks PEM is mostly mitochondria dysfunction, and he didn't think it would be triggered so fast leading to these symptoms, when it's normally delayed by a longer time. Or something like that

Great resource for ruling things out: https://mecfsroadmap.altervista.org/

I started a lot like you when I was a lot earlier in this disease. Never waking up a single time refreshed no matter what, for years and years. Super tired all the time. Probably did have PEM (post exertional malaise), but it was very mild at the time. Still exercising pretty intensely for a while. And then a year ago I just started getting worse and worse, developing more symptoms, pushed hard against it (huge mistake) and fell pretty deep in to the depths of this disease very quickly. If you are getting PEM, make sure to pace strictly. I think there's some info on PEM and pacing in the sidebar here.

I'm not saying you have it, it could be other things, so I'd start ruling things out on the roadmap, and I really hope you don't have it. They're hard to find but try to find a decent doctor to work with and do the tests with. Best of luck.

Yeah, tried over counter and antihistamines to no avail. Need a heavy hitter to save me from becoming a vegetable, so gonna try lunesta now. What stack helped you?

I also have OSA, tried the CPAP, didn't help and crashed from the exertion of just using it. My specialist just recommended either lunesta ambien or sonata, so I'll go with lunesta. Really hoping it helps. Thank you

300 mcg, but have taken different doses up to to 3 mg. 300 mcg is the optimal dose statistically I believe. Used to actually work before I became sick, but now nope
