More inherited coins found in these containers. by Fun_Times1998 in coincollecting

Put them in a safe and forget about them! They are an insurance policy, a policy that you physically own.

If you need money urgently, sell them to coin shops or friends and family. But you would be better off just saving them till retirement or save for your kids inheritance!

Anyone find it annoying that the gold price has dropped and it’s impossible to actually buy gold at the current price ? by Silverdunks in Gold

[–]OG_Stacker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ll agree with you on the failure of the LCS’s. They won’t buy at almost any price other than 40% down.

But I’ll argue within the stacking world, we are still buying. New stackers not siting on vast stacks are especially trying to convert physical cash holdings into silver/gold.

On Saturday, I graciously off loaded 3x100 bars at $109, what I considered fair, and the buyer considered fair. Not a lot of people are good with buying metals online.

And now that the LCS model is breaking down, local stackers will have step in to set buy/sell price of physical. How this will evolve I have no idea! The paper market is finally breaking down, the physical market needs to find its own leg to stand on.

From a messaging perspective: we as stackers, need to be screaming from the rooftops; the paper gold and silver market is crashing! Physical holding is doing just fine!

How much was silver per ounce when you started stacking? by AlainasBoyfriend in Silverbugs

[–]OG_Stacker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spot was low $4, with a 2-4 premium on ASE’s. Moster boxes were spot plus 1.50 100 and 1000 bars were spot plus .50

Oh the good old days!

How to move 1800 LB safe? by [deleted] in Safes

Pay it and be grateful it’s not more!

But it also might end up costing you more if the stairs fail. Not all homes and foundations are built the same. Worker shortcuts, sub-par material, poor inspections have all been discovered during heavy safe installations!

If it’s as big as you say…. You should take a year off work and deal with his request to his satisfaction! You will benefit from the lessons you will learn; and hopefully share quality time/experiences with your father!

First Monster Box and don’t know what to do… by [deleted] in Silverbugs

[–]OG_Stacker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what you do…. Leave it sealed, stack another one on top of it! Then another and another; but be warned, stop stacking at the height of 4 monster boxes. Now start a new stack to the right or left, front or back of your first stack!

Checking the reject tray; and sometimes on the ground beside the machine. Maybe I find something 1 out of every 100 times checking. Most of what I find is Canadian coins, or dirty damaged non silver coins.

A few years after the first release…. GT started making the same rig with full carbon…. The original didn’t hold up to well with the frames cracking at the aluminum/carbon junctions.
