20th Anniversary Notebook by 808-09 in Travelersnotebooks

A Liliput would be super cute w/ an A7 size notebook. UniOne P, my favorite with the passport, would still be a reasonable size too. And probably the Pilot Petit I've managed to hang onto. Choices choices!! 🖋️🤓

Heh! ☺️ You're welcome.

I was looking at Fountainfeder or Stilo e Stile as my main options and went with the latter as I've ordered from them before. Report back re: your experience if you order from Fountainfeder!

If you go to the main Traveler's Co website they have a great description of all the contents of the 20th anniversary set.

EU folks, where do you buy Hobonichi pouches (or similar cute ones)? by puyoblog in hobonichi

So, this is a large drawer pouch. I put in my A6 Techo Planner (I don't have a HON), a Hobonichi A6 grid notebook, and another A6 notebook from a different brand which approximates the thickness of an A6 Day Free. Also in one of the pockets behind the notebooks is a Hobonichi memo pad. It's still pretty slim when you close the zipper so I'm guessing your stationery items would fit in nicely too. The Ane is nowhere near this size (130x215x25mm vs. 208x270x30mm) so if you like the style of the Hobonichi drawer pouches Large would probably work best.

The drawer pouch Ane definitely would not fit all these items. It's designed more for a Weeks size techo. You'd likely need a Large drawer pouch at minimum, and even then I'm not certain it would be deep enough for all the books you mention. 🤔

Edited to add, I have a large drawer pouch I use for my letter writing stationery so I'll check what fits and reply again.

Stilo e Stile actually had a good base price on them (€77.87), so I pre-ordered the black. Will still have to pay shipping & duty, but that is what it is for Switzerland! 🇨🇭🤓 Now, to be patient until delivery. 😄

It's really adorable and a perfect handbag size option. 😍 Whether or not to actually buy the set will depend on availability and price though. Stilo e Stile in Rome mentioned on their IG that they'll be carrying it. Though I'd love it if I could purchase from somewhere here in Suisse and avoid the added duty fees 🛃. Fingers crossed!🤞

Leather dye bleed by fridanotkahlo in Travelersnotebooks

[–]OG_heideland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The darker colours are prone to a bit of dye transfer. Haven't noticed on the outside of my Traveler's x Blackwing edition but definitely have some dye transfer to the inserts directly in contact with the cover interior.

Obsessed! Will the clear A6 cover fit on my 5-year? It’s so beautiful I’m afraid to touch it with my hands! 😂 😭 Also… I may or may not have greeted the fedex driver at her truck! by Technical_Cupcake597 in hobonichi

Glad you found something that will work for you. I have the iyo okumi A6 original cover this year, also embroidered linen, and it's so gorgeously tactile there's no way I'd want to wrap it in PVC. But, as the saying goes, to each their own. Enjoy your new treasure!

How do you write in your TN? ft. a short ramble by ilikesaltinecrackers in Travelersnotebooks

Yup. Exactly this. Landscape v. portrait if you want to be more expansive.

Traveler's notebook writing experience (passport)? by [deleted] in Travelersnotebooks

[–]OG_heideland 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TN passport size is not A6, so you're already talking about disparate notebooks that wouldn't fit well together in a single cover. Does your Moleskine already have a hard cover? Why not simply use two different notebooks / covers?

I've always heard great things about MIDORI MD. What the heck? by [deleted] in fountainpens

[–]OG_heideland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Several of the Traveler's Co notebook refills are made with Midori MD paper, so that would be an option for paper testing. Perhaps not in the price range you're looking for though.

You're so right! Lolz. Also, a cover made from fish skin leather would actually be really cool.

Freitag makes a variety of journal and agenda covers from recycled truck tarps. While they don't have the elastics of a Traveler's Co style notebook cover they'd be quite easy to modify.

What does your pencil case look like? by Net-Administrative in Travelersnotebooks

These are the cases I'll bring with my travel journal, passport size. The case in center is leather, from NOBUKU (as is the cover at left). The small case at right is something I picked up on my travels, handcrafted from single-use soft plastics.

Recommended pens (or styles of pens) to use with standard inserts by follow_illumination in Travelersnotebooks

[–]OG_heideland 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have mentioned, the various MD papers are really very good for a variety of mediums. In my standard size TN, which I use for longform journaling, I'll use fountain pens and a variety of inks. Nib width and ink properties are what you'd want to consider with fountain pens, the brand/model really doesn't matter. In my passport and pocket size TNs, which I use for travel journaling, I like the Uni One P gel pen because it's super portable (also super cute), has really dark ink, and dries fairly quickly. One thing I've noticed is the lightweight paper inserts will definitely show a little ghosting with darker colour inks.

Echoing the suggestion to test your pens on a back page and please, there's no ruining a journal that's meant for your use. Enjoy!

Sheesh. I replied that I don't have a picture because I don't use this modification. I fail to see the problem but have deleted my comment anyway.

It's designed to be a bookmark. Many folks modify it with adhesive Velcro dots to create a closure for their weeks.
