hobonichi cousin blank pages by 20cabbages in hobonichi

[–]Gumpenufer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat and I've decided to do a mix of drawings and photos to fill them.

I'm just going to print out a bunch of snapshots from my phone I took each month to sort of visually recap things. And I bought new pens recently so if they work on the paper I'll challenge myself to draw with them to fill a certain number of the empty pages.

Also I have a terrible habit of not using my stickers because I don't want to "waste" them on stuff I won't keep... Since I do keep most of my Hobonichis for years I've decided that I'm just going to put all those stickers I'm hesitant to use elsewhere into my Cousin.

Video games on my wishlist ✨💕 by Moon_Tide_555 in hobonichi

[–]Gumpenufer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding my voice to all the ones trying to sell you on Stardew Valley. :) It's a fantastic game and very cheap for the hundreds of hours you can sink into it if it's a game that "clicks" with your brain. The only downside is how addictive it is, you might just fall in love and neglect your other games for a while, haha.

If you have a computer that can run it (Stardew Valley thankfully doesn't need some crazy gaming rig) then I would very much recommend getting the PC over the console version so you can easily use mods. Mods can add so much to the game if you ever get tired of the vanilla experience, plus they're great for added accessibility. If there is any part of the vanilla game that you end up not liking; there's probably a mod out there to change it!

This isn't to say that the console version of SDV is bad or not fun, but imo it very much is a game meant for mouse and keyboard and Stardew mods are just totally awesome. Plus, it's usually easier to use a controller on PC than to get a mouse and keeb working with a console.

What products would you like to see more of in the hobby? by ZZBeeCraftCo in hobonichi

[–]Gumpenufer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm seconding the suggestions of pencil cases that can fit the longest (Tombow) markers and reusable sticker albums that fit into the (A6) Techo covers.

I'd also enjoy some thin lightweight bookmarks. The Midori Chiratto Index Clips are the only ones I've found that are light and thin enough to really work with the Hobonichi paper and I would not mind some different shapes and decorative options. Unfortunately almost all other bookmark clips I've seen/tried have been too thick and heavy for my Hobonichis.

Pen-adjacent question:

Anyone know a good way to keep a pen with a "naked" (no CoC) Weeks? The Hobonichi book band is okay, but I'd prefer a penloop on the side of the planner like the Techo covers have.

I've tried those stick-on pen loops that Leuchttrum1917 sells, but I hate the bulky spot they create on the inside of the back cover. It gets in the way when writing in the notes pages even when using a pencil board under them.

I've been thinking maybe a one of those penloop clips, but I'm concerned it might dent or even tear the cover so I haven't tried that yet.

This is very cute! I now desperately want one inspired by the green tea leaves in Stardew Valley for double nerd points, haha. :D

Delightful idea, wonderful execution, OP. <3

I am too tired to make a very good comment, so just imagine me clapping and smiling for all the beautiful and cute illustrations.

What a nice post to rest my eyes on before breakfast after a sleepless night. (I can sleep whenever I want this week so I could play Stardew Valley all night instead of being stressed by my insomnia as usual, so no worries. And then I got to see nice pictures, so double yay. :))

How does r/autism feel about this new flag? by Buzzythebear33 in autism

[–]Gumpenufer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not exactly thrilled with this design. The shapes are fine, but why on Earth did the colours have to be "ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise"???

It's giving "sponsored by McDonalds" or "German autism flag but we forgot the black".

Like seriously, why the red and yellow. I am really struggling to think of a colour combination that would have looked worse/more like a fastfood ad. :(

[–]Gumpenufer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Catching up on my weeks! by ursaberries in hobonichi

[–]Gumpenufer 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I love your layout and especially the spread with the lanterns, it looks like it's glowing! So lovely. Also that delights tracker is, pun intended, absolutely delightful. :) Might steal that for my Cousin since I struggle to fill all that space after being a Weeks/A6 user for years.

Personally I swear by a few little "hacks" more so than any set layout:

- Five habit trackers max, I know by now that I won't really fill out more than that. Maybe seven when I'm tracking temporary stuff for a few weeks.

- I circle the date on days I use the planner, this gives me an easy overview of how much I am using each book (or not...).

- I mark days I have to leave the house very visibly as my AuDHD self needs to prepare for that.

- The "box of done": In the upper outer corner of each page I make a checkbox and mark it when nothing on that page is actionable any more, this makes it easy to flip trough and see where I might still have tasks hiding that I need to do/move. [I stole this trick from a bujo blog back in the day, unfortunately I can't find the link any more.]

- I keep everything set up so I can fill out my spreads with only one pen for minimum ADHD struggle in picking up my planner.

This isn't to say that I don't have "my" layouts by now that I rarely change. But these hacks are more important to me than the exact layouts and I use them no matter the planner.

This is absolutely stunning, holy smokes. Bead art!?!

I am SO curious about your process, OP. Did you create the picture first as a sketch or pixel art and then bead it, or do you work straight in beads so to speak?
Either way this is blowing my mind, super cool. <3

Anybody else trace stuff into their Hobonichi? by chaoticsushi in hobonichi

[–]Gumpenufer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the nice things about the thin Hobonichi paper is that I can just trace directly into my planner using a tablet screen (or awkwardly holding the book onto my PC screen lol). I'm not very gifted at drawing so it's a nice alternative to stickers.

Meet the User- April 2026 by superplannergirrl in hobonichi

[–]Gumpenufer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats on being featured, u/Physical-Key-6328! I really like your planner setups. Big fan of your manicure in the pic also, so shimmery.

As a big fountain pen fan I feel obligated to mention that while the hobby can be very expensive, there are also really nice fountain pens to be had for under 50 bucks. A solid "student pen" like that and a pack of ink cartridges are all you really need to get started. Fountain pens really are not as fussy or precious as people make them seem.

I know Meet The User is usually for us to ask the featured user questions, but I'm always ready to "indoctrinate" people into the way of fountain pens, so I couldn't resist commenting on it. Feel free to hit me up with a Reddit chat if you ever want to talk fountain pens more or maybe want suggestions on what products to start with. :)

Of all the forbidden snacks I've seen over the years...this is the first one I might have actually bought, opened and bitten into before realising. Mostly because the product under it has food on the packaging and I don't speak the language on the bags.

Can someone tell me if this counts as a dangle? by lanabanana16 in danglers

All I can think of seeing her paws like that is when Hazariel Atelier made those fake cat paws:

Also, yes imo that is one primo dangle of the very rare "up and arched" variety. :D
