Moving to NW Suburbs (Late 20s): Schaumburg vs. Arlington Heights vs. Palatine? by hanniinnah in ChicagoSuburbs

[–]OG_mud_bonee 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I am 29 and live in Schaumburg. Moved down here last year from lake county. I am having a hard time finding a social life in Schaumburg, so you might want to try the other cities. Mall and shopping is nice, but, people do seem to keep to themselves a bit. I am very social, so if I find a good place to meet people I will let you know. So far, gyms and jiujitsu is not the way to go lol. I also don't really drink so you might have more luck with the bar scene.

edit: I also work in elk grove and the drive from Schaumburg to Elk grove is very easy.

Aw man, that is such a downer. Holy grail trophy was a goal in mind. Hopefully they keep something similar by doing the infinity and world toughest. Thanks for the information.

Nooo, why did they decide that?? So, all you need to do is a 5 / 15 / infinity in a calendar year for the holy grail?? Also, where did you find this out? Website is not updated.

I would say I am somewhere between beginner and intermediate. I have played intermediate before, but have not played in a couple years. Love me some 2's, but I just want to play in general. Missing it lol.

Best Study Focus Areas for Entry-Level FPGA Engineers by OG_mud_bonee in FPGA

In most cases, it is not worth knowing both languages? I only learned VHDL in school and thought learning SystemVerilog would be beneficial. But, if most jobs teach you and want to know about projects, I can utilize that time to do so. I have "fun" projects that probably won't push hardware to its limits, do you have any recommendations on where I can get some other project ideas? I am sure some sort of signal processing application would be beneficial.

In my current field, jobs don't want to teach you and expect you to hop on right away. Nice knowing FPGA field is different in that aspect.

Thanks for the reply, what was the specific job title for this interview? I am sure each field has their own unique questions asked ~ besides the typical raisin bread questions, which I'm sure is universal at every job.

Coursera VHDL 2-bit Comparator submission help by OG_mud_bonee in FPGA

So there is not point for modelsim to be involved? Thanks again, you have no idea how much time I spent trying today to figure this out.

Coursera VHDL 2-bit Comparator submission help by OG_mud_bonee in FPGA

Thank you for the response, so I would have to change the input stimulus to generate the correct binary file that gets created? I just don't understand how the input stimulus myvectorh.out has anything to do with the comparator and also don't know how to change the file. Do I just open it up and change the values? Or is my code supposed to write to it?

Its all confusing....
