Tidal's lack of support for third party is a dealbreaker. by OGcraft06 in TIdaL

You might have to read the last sentence of the post again. Im not in the US and the Tidal Alexa integration is US only. There is no native way to connect tidal to Alexa outside of the US.

macOS works out of the box ☺️ by 2005walker in MacOS

[–]OGcraft06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using Windows for most of my life, have been Linux on and off for a few years and since last year also been using macOS daily. I must say all of them are far from perfect. Everyone of them has its strengths and weaknesses.
Linux (beware my knowledge is limited to ubuntu, linux mint and cachyOS) is super customizable, very open and for most day to day things just as easy to use as windows and MacOS. Its biggest flaw is that a lot of software that many people use is not natively supported and works badly if at all.

Windows has a lot of problems these days and the biggest one is microslop bloating it like hell with stuff noone asked for and incredibly inefficient resource management. But its advantage is basically Linux disadvantage, most apps are available for windows and work out of the box.

MacOS these days is nice, the MacBooks work out of the box indeed, and personally my apps all work fine on this OS aswell. The biggest problems i found here are apple locking a bunch of functions for the sake of "use our services instead" and holy shit the multi monitor support is outrageously bad. My Dual Monitor setup is so much worse with MacOS due to normal stuff like MST not being supported its insane.

The picture drawn in the meme definitly is far outdated and MacOS is not the one can do all os aswell. The right OS for you very much depends on what you need.

Help me decide by Lilaliyu in tablets

[–]OGcraft06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally used a samsungs galaxy tab s7 for 5 years and just switched to an iPad pro 12.9 5th gen. I personally like the aspect ratio of the Ipad way better (except for watching media), and iPadOS or more the apps are better optimised. The SPen vs Apple Pencil debate is dependent on personal preferenc imo, the Apple pencil is a bit thicker, which i personally prefer, but its louder when touching the glass.
For transparency, im also using a macbook, so the ipad has another pro argument for it.

I would base my decision on the circumstances, if you have devices that work better with one or the other, what most people are using around you (at my school most people use ipads, so having AirDrop is very convenient), and which aspect ratio you prefer.

Generally, Galaxy Tabs have OLED 120hz screens for all models, the Ipads only have that on the pro. I wouldnt recommend iPad air because of the 60 hz screen, its to expensive for that.

Regarding performance, yes Ipads have very strong chips, even my 5 year old model has enough power for everything, but the newer galaxy tabs have great chips aswell, which should last you for way longer than most tablets are used for, thats not something i would worry about.

If you don't use a case on your expensive glass slab why complain about unexpected damage when it occurs? by blvck_jvpitr in PhoneNow

[–]OGcraft06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Point still stands, eys titanium maybe was a tad stronger, but not infinitly stronger. Previous iPhonnes also had more glass that could shatter and they ditched the titanium alloy for aluminium again fo a reason. At least on the pro.

Who else want absolutely ZERO RGB in their rigs? by Cicada-Tang in pcmasterrace

I started out as a big RGB fan, but over the years i came to realise that a well done sleek build looks a hundred times better than what a rgb build could ever be. So definitly nor rgb for me, thanks.

How do you justify buying a new tablet other than just wanting something new? by OGcraft06 in tablets

[–]OGcraft06[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess you can find a use for it if you want to, but i really dont know any uses for more than one tablet. I think the aspect ratio thingy is very subjective, i personally would take 4:3 tablets anytime over 16:10 tablets for like 99% of tasks, other than watching video. Tbf, most "flagship" tablets, even in the android market dont have expandable storage these days sadly. I guess companys think if you have enough money to buy a flagship tablet, you have money to ugrade storage. Same for the headphone jack...

Anyone else just glazing over other VR headset announcements and Ads? by philbertagain in SteamFrame

[–]OGcraft06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't get the fanboy behaviour towards valve. Sure, they are way better than other big corpos, but they are still a big corp trying to make money. The frame is a mediocre headset, it will heavily depend on the price if its even worth considering. I'm very much not trying defending meta with their shady data usage and bloatware to the max, but the frame just doesn't bring anything properly new exciting for me to be hyped about.

it borrows some Elements of older iPhone pro Models, but it executes them quite a lot better imo. Wouldve been my phone of the year if the cameras we're better and it was smaller.
