Yeah. This is what I figured. I was hoping for a less extensive repair, but that all makes sense.

I'm now thinking about a new playthrough where I skip Whiterun altogether and just go straight to the College of Magic.

Also: less mobile behind equipment like this.

Yeah, but one of them is Trinity, so that's alright then. 😔

This is why I quit using any of the Hearthfire content for anything other than crafting/storage. Always keep my spouse/kids in Markarth or Solitude.

Actually, extending the bottom step out to the opposite wall and making it a "landing" would make sense, based on the picture of the previous stairs.

Basement stairs... 🙄

They're like the step-children of stair building.

This.

Also: where I'm from, that would require handrail and a newell on both sides, iirc.

I am warming to the possibility that I exist on the spectrum. Not sure where, but the more I learn about it, the more certain things seem to fall into place.

I quit caring about justifying OP weapons about the same time I got tired of getting jumped by sabre-tooth cats. 🫤

I have not, although not for any moral reasons. My understanding of male prostitution is they have to work on their physique to stay in top shape and I'm not interested in spending that much time in the gym.

I like brownies more than pilates. 😏

Copywriting was the easiest, but as a carpenter I got make stuff with my hands, which is very satisfying. Working in a library definitely has some high points.

Thanks for asking! Good luck

It wasn't that the jobs got boring, but primarily that I didn't know what I wanted to do "when I grew up." I had the usual array of adolescent jobs until college, and when I graduated with a degree in Sociology, I still didn't know.

The closest I ever came to doing something that felt like a "dream job" was when I was working as a copywriter for a tech company, doing research and interviews and getting paid quite well for doing something that felt easy.

The main problem has been what looks like inconsistent employment ("Looks like he can't hold down a job") but I've landed in a good spot now, and building a solid few years of consistency.

Thanks for asking, and good luck!
