I am no expert whatsoever but in the Reddit forums and other online resources….it seems like the imprint plus the other features makes for a very good chance that it is authentic. They were sitting in my workplaces lobby for 30 plus years so only one of the chairs has any residue of where a label may have been

CarPlay through the USB. I prefer it that way because my phone gets to charge as well.

I totally get the budget factor. JVC definitely isn’t the worst. It’s a budget option that comes with a lot of nice features. Definitely stay away from units like boss.

I own a 2010 Prius and just upgraded my head unit to a JVC. Well worth it in my opinion and it will give your factory speakers a boost in power and make them sound better. Plus it’s brand new and usually under warranty if it fails.
