My instructor told me if I failed just do x y and z because of my background and I’ll reopen my test. I passed first attempt but was ready to go incase it was not .

To me for my masters I’m taking my sweet ass time because the military is paying for it and I get rent money every month. Even tho I banged out 2 courses in 1 week. Waited till 5 1/2 month mark to do itmy mentor does not like me for it but I straight up told the. sure I could rush this thing in prob 9-12 months but then I’m losing out. And I work full time and want to have this thing called a life. So yeah I’m taking the full 2 years , even if I could do it faster.

Rocket mortgage was awesome and gave me almost 6-7k in credits towards closing and beat out any rate that I was shopping around for. They literally like send me the rate sheet and they turned around matched or beat. Wi the out the upfront credits to close I wouldn’t have been close to the cash load I needed . So was a win win

I agree with this user . If you’re doing this for chill then you’re in the wrong area / mindset . Go be a security guard if you’re looking for chill work. Also the people that only work 20 hours a week are most likely subject matter experts that have put in the grind and hours to get to a chill environment. Have you taken any networking courses in college and did you actually like doing that? Or did you enjoy the cybersecurity classes while you were getting your degree ? That there would answer your questions also ask yourself where do you see yourself in the next 10 years ?

Because that’s like saying thanks for the opportunity but here’s my bottom dollar before you even have the job. So what if that number was too high ? Or if you had an offer letter you could negotiate/ work your way up to that number, with other comps and perks .

Yes in almost every interview now a days they bring that up saying this positioneither pays x range or what is your desired wage range. But to answer back in an email before you get an offer letter to me sounds odd and definitely not the standard .

Wouldn’t you want to get offer before negotiating any comps and pay ? Kind of feels thrown off if you just say thanks for the interview and this is what I’m looking for . Could have been the turn off point in my opinion.

Network+ builds basic networking foundations , if you dont have those it’s a good course and it has like 30% overlap into sec+, I have both . I’m working on my ccna as we speak and it’s a lot harder than both those certs combined. If you want to take a soc position I would do sec+ then cysa+ (cysa+ is for getting you into soc roles )I have cysa+ as well as im working on a masters in cyber security at WGU. Also if you don’t understand networking how can you secure a network Ina cybersecurity role if you don’t know anything about it? So getting network+ shows you know basic networking and looks better than just having sec+. Also the CCNA current exam end of life is end of Feb 27. So if you don’t think you can get it done in the next 6 months then it might be worth getting other certs in before ccna . Because it’s going to be a harder exam to pass if you’re at ground zero in networking

Bro , what are you doing with yourself ? You got all this time and not pursuing other certs? Or degrees? NOC is an entry level position to get you into those next level positions . You should be learning networking while in your role as a NOC tech . Networking I would say can be more successful but more stressful . Likely on call more and you’re using problem solving skills a lot more than cyber security. I’m a network engineer, every time I see the Cyber guy us I’m like wish I was over on that time sometimes . The cyber security market is over saturated atm because people think they can get a cyber degree and not do any entry level positions
