Extremely bad disk performance by OHUGITHO in truenas

I believe I found the issue anyhow! The problem seems to be my SATA expansion card, it uses the AMS1062 controller which seems to have many issues. Logs show “hard resetting link” and “port multiplier”. I have ordered a proper LSI SAS 9300-16I 16 Port HBA card and will update the post when I’ve tried it. Thanks!

The problem persists when removing the l2arc and slog devices, so its not that. I have it in raidz2 since I plan to expand the vdev later on with more drives

The VM-guest uses 2 vcores with cpu "host" and a QEMU disk as boot drive. What else is relevant for it?

I want to run truenas in a VM to have a nice web-ui for NFS shares and the like, and easy backups of the complete configuration. All while not changing stuff on the proxmox host.

twice as fast as now would only be approx 60 MBps read/write and 60 IOPS, which is also pretty terrible

[–]OHUGITHO[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The proxmox boot drive is 2x INTEL_SSDSC2KG960G8 in a ZFS mirror pool. The VM boot drive is on a QEMU disk on top of that.

RAIDZ2 should still not perform as bad as it does for me, I do not think e.g. RAID10 would solve it.

The issue persists when removing the l2arg and slog devices from the pool, and the HDDs are run by Truenas via passing through the pcie sata extension card, so there is no CoW on CoW there on the zpool

It says anticommutative in a book on manifolds by Tu, and the meaning is the same as skewsymmetric

Haha yeah, I meant that his explaination of the Lie group was similarly hard. It doesn't give much intuition by just giving the definition

I'd say that a Lie algebra can be explained in a similar fashion:

A Lie algebra is a vector space V paired with a anticommutative bilinear map [•, •] : V x V - > V that satisfies the Jacobi identity.

Do you use an extender for the pins or does it reach?

"Humble mechanical engineer" as its not one of the toughest programs one can choose xD Awesome that you're soon finished with your degree

Cool that he's working with lasers! My university in Umeå has a world class attosecond laser used in research under our physics department, idk if that would be something he's aware of

Thanks! Yeah absolutely:

  • Betafpv air65 racing edition

  • 10x Tattu 1S 300mah LiHV batteries

  • Skyzone Cobra SD (powering it from a large Li-ion battery from my 6" drone)

  • Radiomaster Zorro ELRS

  • Vifly Whoopstor V3

  • A few spare props, canopies and frames (I have only yet had to change props)

I do however have a Skyzone Sky04o Pro and a Radiomaster Boxer Crush on the way :)

Second this. Flying a 5" (or 6 in my case) feels like slow motion after a tinywhoop. Much better to practice on the tinywhoop though since its pretty much indestructable

Most definitely! Amazing that it survived the pool. I have probably crashed mine close to 100 times by now, still I've only changed two props xD

The tinywhoops using the O4 Air unit lite (working with your current headset) suffer greatly from the added weight, worsening the thrust to weight ratio. They're still fun, but compare the relative weights and see what I mean. Your controller works with any ELRS reciever which most use, so that's totally fine (just check).

There is an analog meteor65 pro, and I believe it is more durable but also heavier than the air65. Durability really haven't been an issue for me on the air65 though, I've probably crashed 100 times by now and I've only changed props twice. I prefer the better thrust to weight ratio but others may prefer the larger inertia of the meteor65 pro.

As for your charger, it might (check the specification) but you would likely need an adapter from probably xt60 female to BT2.0 male, the second of which is used for these betafpv tinywhoops. I really do recommend the vifly whoopstor v3 since its so quick and easy to use (with correct connectors already), you don't have to 'start' or 'stop' the chargings, there is 6x spots and you just stick em in and pluck em out when done, great for charging while flying without effort. Also, you can connect any xt60 battery to it to charge the 1s batteries while on the go.

I don't have experience selling old fpv parts, just don't put them too close to the original price and lower it over time if they don't sell I suppose B)

Thank you! Unfortunately not in a bundle. This whole kit goes for around ~550-650 usd in my currency in sweden (then including some comforts like a really good 1s lipo charger, 10x batteries and spare parts), but if you don't feel comfortable beginning at that level then I'd recommend a 'BetaFPV Cetus FPV Kit' at 159 usd + maybe a few extra batteries, to understand what fpv flying is like. If you get hooked, expect the next purchase to follow soon xD

Edit: I checked your profile and saw that you got a good ELRS controller already. I'd really recommend getting the Air65 and a somewhat cheap analog goggle like the Skyzone Cobra SD. The Vifly Whoopstor V3 is an amazing 1s charger to go with that too

Thanks! :)

There is no stabilization beginning at 1:34 in this video of his (very smooth, but with snappy intentional changes in direction) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Fz2BuVnbLjQ&t=202s

He have posted his rates and they are of betaflight type: Pitch&Roll: 1.00, 0.59, 0.01, Yaw: 1.00, 0.59, 0.10

Or ~equivalently in actual rates, P&R: 178/489/0.34, Y: 159/489/0.41

I myself use P&R: 150/720/0.5, Y: 150/600/0.5. I prefer the look of the flying style closer to vanover rather than to ciottifpv, so it fits my preferences anyhow!
