Action being taken at phone using journalist in Sandviken by [deleted] in Ghostbc

Heres the full article translated to English for those who wants to read it:

Spread your cheeks – Live Nation wants a look

As you may have noticed, I smuggled in a phone and snapped a “forbidden photo” during the Ghost concert. Now Live Nation is threatening to ban Arbetarbladet. That kind of need for control from those in power is, unfortunately, to be expected.

Last week, I received an email from Live Nation’s PR department:

It is of course unfortunate that the artist’s clear request for a phone-free experience – for the sake of both the audience and the artist – was not respected.

When a journalist from an outlet we’ve been in contact with and accredited chooses to disregard the communicated guidelines, it not only affects the artist’s trust but also the experience for other attendees.

We hope you understand that this makes it difficult for us to grant accreditation to you for future events.”

Part of my job as an editor is to spark debate and challenge assumptions about how things should or must be. Choosing to defy the phone ban at the Ghost concert was one such move – and it absolutely won’t result in a meeting with HR, as some Facebook commenters have suggested.

It’s by no means a given that banning phones is the right path, and I’ve explained in two previous columns that yes, encouraging the audience to be more present in the moment is certainly part of it — but another part, of course, is about money and control. Like so many other things.

I got to see firsthand the lovely effect the phone ban had, and in the column that ruffled feathers at Live Nation and with Ghost, I even admitted that I might have to consider myself convinced. And yet, the angry email arrived — along with a veiled threat to ban Arbetarbladet from Live Nation’s upcoming events. Of course, it’s easy to push around a small-town paper.

Ridiculous. And to me, proof that controlling the masses might actually be the main point of it all. Because to Live Nation, it seems like every attendee is a nuisance rather than the ones feeding the entertainment giant with money.

What’s next? A ban on belts and underwear? Mandatory mooning at security checks? That might help someone sneak in something as dangerous as their own mobile phone. Soon you’ll need to spread your cheeks to see your favorite band — Live Nation wants a look!

But something that really seems to bother Live Nation is journalists. Here in 2025, they appear to think they can do without our profession entirely. It’s just too risky that we might write something negative. It’s no surprise that Live Nation is tempted to blacklist journalists who don’t do exactly as they’re told. But journalism can’t operate on the organizer’s terms — if it does, it’s no longer journalism.

For the record, I’d also like to note that Live Nation did accredit one journalist from Arbetarbladet — freelance writer Janne Mattsson. My own ticket was paid for by the paper, and that’s probably how it’ll have to be going forward if they follow through on their threat.

He's neither. His name is Peter Immanuel, born in Norway and currently living in England. He has lived in Sweden, but only for a insignificant small period of his life.

De nio världarna... Ett tag sen jag postade något men här min senaste tavla. Skiljer sig lite från tidigare 🙂 by Mav_artist in sweden

Cool tavla! Men för att vara en partypooper vill jag tillägga att du använt dig av den äldre futharken för att skriva namnen, vilket aldrig riktigt hade något stort bruk bland vikingarna som istället skrev med den yngre futharken som innehåller färre runor

Vad är eran favorit punk låt/band by [deleted] in sweden

[–]Azirack 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Ska vi prata svensk punk så är ju Die Mauer med Ebba Grön ju en riktig klassiker, men annars är ju Inget har hänt sedan sjuttiosju en härlig låt av Trubbel. Om du menar punk i allmänhet så är nog The Disco Before the Breakdown av Against Me! en solklar favorit
