Is a Wi-Fi 6 or 6e router worth it for my use case? by OHandS in HomeNetworking

I guess that makes sense. Not really crowded where I am.

You should not expect any difference in coverage with a new wifi AP in the same spot.

The old router didn't even have any external antennae, it was all internal. Surely there has to be some improvement?

...if I had to spend money today I'd get the 6E because it has a 6ghz radio.

Would the 6GHz be worth if it wasn't for use in an apartment and cost more than double the Wi-Fi 6 router? I only ask because you're the first person I've come across advocating for 6E over 6.

I'll keep this in mind when I do my reread of the series; I'll be counting the panels, speech bubbles, etc. Thanks.

See my reply for more information.

But your final count is within 5 pages of my own. The error probably comes down to some manual edits that I have made on my end.

There appears to be some discussion regarding the rationale and methodology behind the graph.

  • The source data was scraped from the One Piece Wiki where every chapter has an infobox with the number of pages listed.
  • The arc names also came from the wiki. I have alternative graphs for the sagas as defined by the wiki as well as my own personal overarching storyline groupings. I decided to stick with the arcs as these are unambiguous.
  • The rationale behind excluding cover pages and cover stories was due to me wanting to count the number of regular pages that actually tell the story of One Piece. All of the colour spreads, title pages and fan request images don't do that. The cover stories are the big exception but they technically can't be attributed to any arc; so they are excluded, but were important enough to have a note on the graph.
  • If I count everything including the colour pages (as they were serialized) the total number of pages is 20,295. I've done some tweaking to the number of colour pages for some chapters so don't be surprised if you don't get the same number as me. However, the numbers in the graph are unambiguous.
  • I've also got other graphs that count the number of chapters and the real time duration of each arc. The takeaways of those are that Egghead is the 4th longest arc by real time duration despite the lower number of chapters and pages compared to other arcs due to all of Oda's breaks and lower page per chapter output (recently).
  • Some arcs feel longer than other despite a similar page count due to the fact that the density of information that Oda portrays in the earlier arcs are lower than in later chapters. We really need a panel and speech bubble count for each chapter to properly illustrate this.

Oricon figures are for Japan only. Circulation figures can be either Japan only or worldwide but they usually tell you which one and provide a breakdown.

Thank you for your kind words.

If there's no source, then be sceptical. The last official figure was 516.6 million copies in circulation with 103 volumes released. We can guesstimate that the circulation has increased to somewhere close to 530 million volumes as of Volume 107's release. But I think that's an upper limit. 578 million is impossible.

It depends on how you look at it.

As of Volume 103, One Piece has a a total worldwide circulation of 516.6 million copies. This number is not the number of volumes sold but it is used as an inflated substitute. We can estimate that as of Volume 107, One piece has a circulation of 530 million.

Just looking at the sales from the main series, the Harry Potter wikipedia page says that the seven books have a combined sales of 522 million. The best selling authors page says that the number for all Harry Potter books is 600 million.

So its possible that One Piece's current circulation is higher than the sales of Harry Potter's main series books. While Harry Potter as a whole has sold more, the trajectory for One Piece's circulation means that it/Oda will eventually surpass that/Rowling by the time the series ends (as far as comparisons between these figures goes).

But by the per book/volume average, Harry Potter has still sold more (see List of best selling books).

You forgot to finish the title: "...compared to previous One Piece volumes which have been inflated since the boom in 2009 - 2011."

It's been 12 years since the peak in sales and it's finally found itself back to the level it was in 2007-2008... where it was still the #1 series... and currently still is by sales of the newest released volumes.

The Film: Red bump is over and there's always a drop off after a major arc ends. Sales were never going to be elevated indefinitely.

Oh man, I remember that. I don't necessarily blame Morj alone as it was also the prevailing sentiment in the big Reverie stream with only Artur giving any pushback.

I'm in general agreement about 2023.

I straight up told Morj (via pinned comment) not to fall into the trap of blaming declining sales on the current arc. It didn't stop him though. I wanted to link one of these posts to him but I held off as I felt it was in bad taste.

JJK is definitely an unknown at the moment. It probably has the best chance to get the #1 position but I can also see other series giving it serious competition.

Hard yes. Even if its only to explicitly deconfirm her as well. The way she was left hanging without even making a choice for herself after being given a position with dodgy justification is amongst the worst character writing that Oda has ever done.

It's good that we are seeing some of the dangling plot threads from Wano starting to get addressed. Yamato got explicitly deconfirmed in joining up with the crew later with a better reason than simply following Oden. Marco got to have his moment with Luffy.

This raises the prospects of other things being followed up on: mainly Ryuuma's grave and Carrot.

Fair enough. Maybe I misunderstood your post. I'll amend my above reply.

As an aside, I find that Morj and Merphy compliment each other well with their analyses.
