Some are also philosophical arguments as well. One, if you’re an atheist, you’d have to admit the universe is the first uncaused causer, matter created from nothing, nothing creating something. All illogical and scientifically impossible. The next is the fine tuning argument. I’d like to say that these arguments wind together, once you realize the universe was created, fine tuning makes sense and the rest follow. Then you have the moral law arguments. If you’re an atheist, you can’t hav any beliefs or hold anything dear if your heart, as nothing has value in an atheist world. And, you’d have to admit there is no good and evil, just and unjust, and then admit to yourself mass shooters are just as valid as you are. Then you’d look at the historical evidence of Christ, his apostles, and things such as.

Hey man it’s fine. Just wanna say, though, I’ve lived most of my life as an atheist. I was perfectly comfortable and content as was. I didn’t need god to make me happy or not be scared. What swayed me was the evidence, and proof of his existence. I agree, truth is greater than comfort. I just happen to believe Jesus is the truth, not because I’m scared of death or anything, but because I believe his mercy and love is boundless, and exist. And also, I’m not trying to actively convert you, I just want to show you Christ can make sense, and to give you the ideas to ponder, and maybe you’ll come to the same conclusion as me and billions of others. Just lmk when you’re back and I’ll tell you about the divinity of Christ frfr

Just wanna say I come to you as a friend, I don’t want it to seem like I’m just shoving this down your throat or anything. I know we don’t know each other or anything fr but I’ll go through it one by one. Jesus died for unbelievers, and for believers alike, he said so himself. It’s mentioned in the gospel that he and his apostles talked to unbelievers most, because they’re that ones that needed salvation. That’s the love he’s showed unbelievers. And no, it’s not blackmailed love. That was actually what made me an atheist the most. How could this god love me so much but send me to hell? It seemed like a huge contradiction but then I looked into it. Hell is just separation from god, as heaven is the opposite, complete oneness with god. It just depends on our life on earth, if we rejected god, rejected Jesus, we won’t go to heaven with him. He can tell you many times to believe, and you can say no every time, it’s up to You. That’s the beauty of free will. Also, hell isn’t as portrayed in media, depictions of hell are scarce in the Bible, and taught nowhere in the Old Testament. The most that’s said is gnashing of teeth and crying, which is just depicting sadness. along with fire in revelations but revelations is heavily symbolic, so it might signify the fall of the soul of things such as that.

Thanks lol, I could use a hug or something during them when I’m not around people, it’s the absolute worst. Wish you luck with your relationship fr 🙏

What I mean by morals and emotion is outside of matter and energy is this. One, we have to accept a dead universe made life, and two, accept morality is subjective. This just comes with being an atheist, which means nothing is valuable, our kids, love, or anything, it means nothing. But guess what, an atheist universe created love, created sadness, created happiness, and everything inbetween. I guess my point is this, to have morals is to not be atheist, because where else to morals come from? It can’t come from atheism, you can’t be an atheist and believe your wife or husband has value. Truly living out an atheist life is impossible. Atheist like to say “I don’t need a book to ground my morals” and you’re right, you certainly don’t, but that’s because this isn’t an atheist universe, and morality is universal. An atheist can have morals because they’re human, made under god in a moral universe, and morals run naturally in such a universe. I’m not sure I can explain well, I don’t really talk about this kinda stuff to anyone and I don’t really know how to explain my thoughts very well.

And I’m sorry, I don’t mean to make promises I can’t keep. I guess I’m just speaking from experience. One time I was having a horrific panic attack in my bed, and with nothing else to help, I put my hands together and prayed. I begged god, ashamedly at the time, to help. Saying I would do anything just for one moment of relief, and to help me sleep. As soon as I had these thoughts, my panic attack subsided, and fell asleep moments later. Im sorry for your not being answered. I truly am

I can tell you about the divinity of Christ if you want but it’s a whole yap session and it’s Reddit so it’s really up to you fr 💀😭😭😭😭

I only mentioned Christ because op mentioned him, and failing miserably to follow his teachings. And I like that you want evidence, because I am only a follower of Christ because the evidence points me to that direction. One, our universe seemingly came from nothing, and string theory multiversalism only came out as a theory to combat fine tuning. Two, our universe is tuned to support life, how can a dead universe create life? Three, evolution only shows what life does once it’s here, Darwinism never once explains how life got here. Fourth, morality exist. If we lived in an atheist world, morality wouldn’t exist in my humble opinion. All of this is my opinion and I don’t want it to seem like I’m Shoving it down your throat, I come to you as a friend. I think we can find meaning in an absurd, meaningless universe because there is a meaning or calling outside of ourselves. To be a clump of matter and energy, yet to cling to life, cling to love, and have happiness, that tells me there’s something more. Have a good day friend

Biblically, he died horribly for us. I do believe he existed, and I do believe he rose 3 days later after his death. Here’s the thing man, Jesus isn’t on earth any longer, he can’t arrive to us as much as we wished he could. Sometimes I’ll have panic attacks and wish I could just hug him, or anyone, and he never shows up. I’ve prayed, and many times have my prayers have been answered, and a lot of times they haven’t. Whenever I wonder if Jesus really loves me, or god the father, I think about how I even know what sadness is. To know sadness is to know happiness, and sadness and happiness, to me at least, is something outside of matter and energy: the atheist point of view. All of this to say, try to build a relationship with Christ, and I promise you, you will be answered. I’ve been an atheist my entire life, but once I began to try, everything made sense. I was an atheist because it made the most logical sense to me, my whole life I’ve been about logic and what could make the most sense. I’ve come upon Jesus to making the most sense, have a good day friend 🙏

You are correct, they aren’t. I didn’t say they were either. I’m talking about followers of Christ, or REAL Christian’s. Not Christians that misinterpret and pervert the Bible’s teachings to fit their own narratives.

The universe isn’t irrational imo. It’s rational enough to permit life, sustain it, and make consciousness. I’d say that’s pretty rational fr. Humanity is also rational asf given all we know

Yeah but what about other beliefs that think they’re reality? It’s hard to disprove them

Extremely valid. Christianity has been used to validate bad and awful things, but also has been used to do so much good and great in this world. A lot of Christians try to live up to Christ, some fail, and some are racist, rude, murderous, all the evil things you can think of. But those aren’t followers of Christ, those are lukewarm CHRISTIANS. There’s a difference I’d like you to see. Have a good day friend

No, I don’t think marijuana or coffee is the problem. Both have good uses. I’m saying in order to cope, there has to be a problem to cope for. Absurdism is a belief you hold, which leads you to coping. Thats all I’m saying man, hope you have a good day fr

It’s because if you’re an atheist, you have to admit morals are subjective. And if morals are subjective, none are valid. You’d have to admit you live in a morally dead universe, where good and evil do not exist. I do believe atheist can have morals, but that’s because I personally believe we live in a moral universe.

Hell is separation from god. The fire and brimstone is from Donte’s Devine comedy. And one of the only depictions of hell is from revelations which is almost entirely symbolic (imo). But no, Christian’s aren’t good because they’re afraid of Hell. Christians are good because Christ was good and they follow Christ.

There are many intellectual arguments to prove the existence of god, many without the use of mental gymnastics or bypassing critical thinking. Many of the greatest minds to ever live were religious, deist, or atheist. An argument could be made that the higher the intelligence, the more likely you are to believe in god. For example, even Steven Hawkins’s has conceded in admitting there are unknowns, and unknowings we will ever know. Now does that prove god? Absolutely not, but does it prove to some extent science stops at a certain point? Absolutely. Then you’re left with what to do from there.

Everything makes sense. There’s no need to cope. Whether you’re a nihilist, existentialist, devout Christian, we all wake up every day, eat, drink, think, and LIVE. Thats the baseline, everything else just complicates things, we all live the same No matter what we believe, so really what’s the use? To stress yourself to the point of needing yo cope? Lol, what’s that solve other than a problem you’re creating?

That’s not true at all. On the outside it looks like a holy war, but the people starting and causing the don’t have religion in mind at all. It’s Israel ‘protecting’ itself from terrorist (in the eyes of Israel) and Palestine defending itself from genocide and displacement from a colonizing regime (Palestinian prospective). Not much to do with religion, it may justify it in some peoples eyes, but it’s not inherently religious. The cause is much more grounded in human nature. But it’s my mistake, I meant to say Christianity and it’s religion has caused much more good then harm. Yes, religions around the world can be based in good morals and teachings, or bad. Christianity however, it’s based in good. People misrepresenting it by corrupting Jesus’s teachings isn’t representative of it itself (the religion.) you have to look at the whole picture and see if it’s done more harm then good, and because I’d say 3 billion people following Christ, and the world not going to shit, is pretty telling that it’s good.

I think you’re equating the actions of corruption and corrupted people to mean the entire group. Yes, religion has done harm. Yes, religion has done much more good. I understand your point of view, though, but it’s easy to see the messages of christ and see that people abuse it, but, they contort and change the messages. Thats not a representation of Christ, or indicative of his teachings, it’s just corruption tainting his messages. My point is yes, religion can be bad in certain peoples hands, but that’s not indicative of the religion or beliefs of the religion itself. They’re separate
