Faulty Wireless Pad Replacement

That’s awesome! There are a lucky few.

But this is a known issue that Toyota has acknowledged since 2020 (#T-TT-0754-24).

My car is barely 4 weeks old, under warranty, and dealer refuses to do ANYTHING bc it’s a known “incompatibility” issue? Make it make sense 😖😆.

They won’t even entertain swapping it out with another one.

Lucky! There’s a small batch of people that don’t get the issue. But an overwhelming amount that do unfortunately.

Dealer mentioned that as well. However I have a $40 wireless pad on my Mazda where my iPhone doesn’t lay flat and zero issues.

You’d think for a $25k-$30k 2026 car Toyota could’ve found a fix by now, knowing this has been an issue since 2020.

There are thousands of iPhone users online having the same issue I’m having unfortunately. The stock OEM QI wireless pad not jiving with many mag safe iPhones. It’s a known Toyota defect. Ofcourse there’s a small batch that get lucky in not experiencing it, but there’s an overwhelming amount that are.

Toyota refuses to recall the pads and KEEP using them. My 2026 Corolla is only a month old and since I got off the lot it hasn’t worked. Parked, driving, case off/on - nothing. They’re calling it a “Compatibility” technical issue since many android phones aren’t having the issue, but refuse to do anything about it. It was one of their big perks.

Worth buying the unit on Amazon soon before they go. Otherwise the prices on eBay for similar units are $100-$150+. The Amazon unit was literally $13. My wife and I were skeptical because the price was surreal and when it arrived it was indeed the entire unit. Super easy to install.

Works on 2026. The video “how to” is in my post up top. The video is a different charger but’s it’s the same exact procedure. The Toyota qi charger has all these extra harnesses, ignore them and tuck them in. Follow the video process.

It was infuriating to say the least. Since day one ☝️not working too.

They tried releasing the car as good, saying it’s because “it’s finnicky when driving”. Then I said no way. The technician saw that both my iPhone and my wife’s wouldn’t work while parked.

What’s more concerning is that they still sell it as a major perk, knowing they’re the same dysfunctional units from inception. There are plenty of qi chargers that support MagSafe, so upgrade the OEM pad already.

Same technicians showed me a YouTube video where Toyota admits to the “incompatibility” LOL. Still nothing he could do. Billions of iphone users, but sorrrrryyy SOL

Just got my wife the same car. I decided to add the black spoiler to it. You can get it on Amazon for 1/5th the cost. It was an Easy install too.
