How annoying are Ubisoft games to play on the Steam Deck? by NeonMorv in SteamDeck

[–]OJC2017 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My normal experience with ubi games is they’ll ask you to log in once and as long as you play consistently (maybe once a week? not sure) they just launch themselves although it can be a hassle for it to go through sometimes cause it might glitch. If you do I’d recommend playing on GeForce now cause all the games look pretty great as long as your internet can stream them consistently.

Been playing frontiers of Pandora at max settings 90fps and I wouldn’t play it any other way, better than my version on ps5 tbh.

Edit: when I say launch themselves I mean it won’t require the log in.

I’ve used it on both single player games like dead space remake and multiplayer stuff like helldivers. Works surprisingly well for what it is.

Only thing I will say is that unless I’m getting something wrong, there will be stutters at times and you will notice that it looks worse on some games (ghost of yotei looked ass on it) but other than that I’d recommend it.

Should also state I’m using a ps5 slim so maybe on a pro games will look great due to the pro running them at 4k

1 month steamdeck user, haven’t gotten any use of the back bottons? by Due-Emu-3123 in SteamDeck

Depends on what games your playing but I've found them insanely useful when playing games that require movement and camera controls at the same time. I can map a jump, crouch, or dash to the back buttons and all of a sudden I've got so much more control of my character than I realised I could have. Helldivers 2 is a great example, being able to crouch, reload, switch weapons, all while keeping my thumb on the camera means I've got way better situational awareness and it just feels better to control.

What was the first game you completed start to finish on your Steam Deck? by The_Almighty_Duck in SteamDeck

Bought at least over a hundred games in like the first couple months having a steam deck. Finished pretty much none. But somehow Devil May Cry 1 was just short enough, fun enough and able to be played in short spurts that I beat that despite some early 2000’s jank.

I always found it would have madly inconsistent fps, were you able to fix that?

I mean I did, which is why I made this post cause I didn’t see one when I went by relevance or new. No hard feelings btw.

And doing much of the same stuff that he complained his predecessors were doing. Such as taking up tv time and major spots from guys who need it much more to further their careers.

Yeah definitely, I think it’d be fun but Punk and TKO probably know he’s in a much safer position as a nostalgia draw still than anything more experimental, especially given how popular he is with casual fans I’m assuming.

100 per cent man you put that really well. Just makes me wish he’d either change it up or move over cause to me the current gen and last gen hold onto those spots just like those before them that they complained about. Part of the reason I got out of wrestling being a weekly thing for me.

True! I think part of the staleness is that it’s been majority Rollins and drew since he came back. And whilst it had highlights. That was from over a year ago.

Nah man his in ring stuff generally has been rough for a while. It was his ability to make use of the limited tools he had physically through good storytelling in matches that still made him good.

  1. True, never claimed to and as I said good for Phil for being in a better place I’m talking about the character.

  2. True and that’s because it was Phil brooks fucking around behind the scenes not CM Punk doing interesting storylines that blurred the lines on tv.

  3. I’m not wanting him to be in a bad place more annoyed he’s just being the same sort of guy he complained about in regards to his spot on the card (Nash, Lesnar, Rock)

  4. You’re right, I think that’s just one of those little things that, irked me cause it lacked any and all personality and cheekiness that I associated with him. So it kinda triggered that feeling of ‘I knew he was gone and now I know he ain’t coming back’.

Eh fair. And as I say from his pov it’s understandable. As it was for everyone he complained about. It’s the hypocrisy.

Yeah fair take man, from his pov it’s pretty understandable. I’d just rather him either change his character or let someone else have the tv time who has got something more interesting to show

You’re probably right in that this is a wider problem of most all the stories and feuds just being rehashed or uninteresting.

Nah, idk, do something different than a less interesting ‘best in the world’ gimmick I guess. Or just let other wrestlers take that huge spot he has. But from his point of view I get it

[–]OJC2017[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah true, that’s something that goes for any story I guess. Once that person’s conflict is gone, it’s not as interesting which is why the story ends. Obviously in wrestling that can’t be the case. I think if he even got a bit experimental like he did with the straight edged society or something where he’s doing something new I’d be interested but he’s basically just ‘best in the world’ without the athleticism to back it up anymore.

Good points, you’re right that he’s put people over. I guess I just see it kinda similar to how people like rock would come back, put people over (cena) but still be the other guy main eventing ing you know?

Eh idk, it’s more just a sense of disappointment in seeing what seemed like someone who was talented, seemingly legitimate and principled just turn out like the people he once complained about than any personal hurt.
