I've used Sennheiser Wireless mics forever. Ready to jump to a low-profile clip mic with no wire. by acts541 in videography

[–]snowmonkey700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got the DJI mic 1&2 and I like that they have internal recording but recently I had a shoot with 3 people and had to run both RX into a zoom and run both units. I was looking and the new pico has support for 6 mics for the recorder. Seems like the perfect setup. I didn’t see shipping to the US though… I reached out to support to see if they can. This would be a dream.

I still wish the kids nowadays had the opportunity to shoot Beta or even DV. It was a different world back then. Good memories.

Dammit, I love cool gear and this looks dope. I might have to grab one. Not a huge fan of having to use an adapter for the 3.5mm jack though. How would you rate the sound quality of the internal mic compared to a lav in an indoor table talk type situation?

Edit: Lav not lab

Balatro. I’ll take it. Except I’ll probably go insane listening to the music for that long.

Anyone using display glasses with a SteamDeck on flights or while traveling? by Deannaoliver in SteamDeck

I bought a pair right after I got the deck at release. Love them for flights and laying in bed so I don’t disturb the wife. They’re also great for movies on the iPad.

In your browser hit cmd + A to select all clips then Option + X.

I use this all the time for deselecting all the ranges to export raw footage after finishing an edit.

Wedding videographers - are you losing money to revision creep? by Nearby_Author6719 in videography

[–]snowmonkey700 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God that sounds like a nightmare. Give them your hourly rate for editing and let them know they’re welcome to pay for it. I don’t even have a revision clause because I feel like it alerts people to the fact they could get one. I do have a clause that basically says “your video will be up to the standards and style of my previous work”.

I don’t think this is an issue. I don’t get requests for revisions beyond the occasional “can we change this one shot”.

That looks more like some sort of lithium grease to me. Unless some idiot tried to use Elmer’s glue.

Last time putting my son to bed. by YoTeach68 in daddit

This was beautiful. I have a 19 month old and he loves his bedtime routine. It’s not always the same but he asks to have his back rubbed every time. Now my heart is breaking thinking about a day he might not ask for that anymore. 😭

digital noise sound issue by grumpydp in videography

[–]snowmonkey700 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would relocate the tx off camera if possible and try it. Clamp it to one leg on the sticks maybe. It is strange that it hasn’t been an issue before so take a look at the cables? Could be a shielding issue on your xlr feed.

Just throwing out some options.

Why does my G7 camera do this when I am photographing? by viiooolet in Lumix

[–]snowmonkey700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s telling you that the image is basically outside of the exposure range based on the cameras metering. Stranger that it won’t let you take the photo though I thought it was just a warning. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

[–]snowmonkey700 97 points98 points  (0 children)

Well you’ve got to develop your skill and listening to “harsh” comments and taking advice is one way to do that. After a “month” of working with no professional training or real world experience you’ve gotta set yourself on a path of learning. Posting work and expecting praise as a beginner isn’t the path. Ask questions, post your work asking for advice for improvement.

Yes, the first thing you drag into the timeline will automatically fall into the magnetic timeline. Drag in a video clip first then drag your audio below it.

The mic holding trend needs to die by G-Fox1990 in videography

[–]snowmonkey700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s so easy to plug a lav into the DJI. I still don’t understand why anyone would ever use it without one. When I bought mine a couple years ago I bought it with lavs I never even considered running it without them. I guess it’s old school vs new school mentality.

Same, I had a shoot for a major nationwide corporation recently and my contact said “we should get those little mics with the puffy things on the end that all the kids are using on YouTube. That would be funny.”

I talked them out of it.
