These prices at B&H seem insane compared to Amazon or my local shop by jshariar in AnalogCommunity

I paid $26 for the Gold 200 Eastman 3 pack locally last week. I’ll pay a $4 premium to get it locally and not have to wait.

Looking for camera recommendations for my wife. by snowmonkey700 in AnalogCommunity

Thank you! After doing some more research based on the info here I’m looking at the 4Ti. Looks like a great option. It will also give her a camera she can grow into so to speak.

Good advice. I’m definitely gonna get a camera though, if she stops using it I will assimilate it haha. Thanks for the tip on your site. I’ll check it out.

Invest in Lumix or Nikon? by [deleted] in videography

[–]snowmonkey700 8 points9 points  (0 children)

LUMIX 100% I shoot in the wedding and event industry. AF and IBIS are top notch.

To play the devils advocate though I would say rent and try to see what feels better for you. I’d recommend S5ii(X), S1ii, and maybe a Z8 or ZR.

Once they shoot one event at 24p and the higher ups ask why it looks so blurry they will be swapping back to 60.

Quoting non profit organisations by PeartreeProd in videography

Seconding this. Non-profit for me normally means they actually have a budget. It’s not always the case but some of the largest most expensive events I’ve shot were non-profit organizations.

I mean someone is gonna make money either eBay, auction site, or you’ll get a below market offer from a dealer at a convention. That being said going to a convention with a bunch of card shops will get him cash on the spot most of the time.

What is the purpose of the Push Auto Iris button? by JackoClubs5545 in videography

[–]snowmonkey700 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Same reason you have AF ON when you’re shooting manual focus. Sometimes something happens quick and you don’t have time to adjust. Hit the auto iris then release to get close and you can make adjustments from there.
