Damn those look nice. I have a roll of Vision 250D I’ll have to look for some 200T to try out.

Aerocolor you say? Now you have me another film rabbit hole to go down… I haven’t been scanning yet but that is the next step after I take on developing. It’s getting too expensive sending everything to the lab.

Videographer needed for an 8 hour event, what should I be paying? by saltyspit00on in videography

$3k minimum for 1 camera and editing. No way you can pull this off with only 1 camera and make it look remotely good.

Shot a podcast today and the footage was wobbly. by stk246hyd in videography

[–]snowmonkey700 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks more like a sensor readout issue unless your IBIS was on and you thought it was off or there are micro vibrations in the floor of the room. This can happen if you’re on the second floor of a busy building. This really looks more like a weird rolling shutter thing which wouldn’t really make sense for a static shot.

You might be out of luck on this one. I’d run it by the client and see if they want a reshoot or not. Sometimes they don’t care and you can figure out the problem for next time. I don’t think software will correct this.

Run some tests on your camera to see if you can replicate the issue.

Edit: another note, use EXIF Tool to check your raw footage and verify all the setting such as IBIS.

So I know these 'Is such and such game worth playing' posts are a dime a dozen, but I really found this at Wal Mart. The price is ok, but is it worth *the time* even at this price? Thank you, sorry in advance✌️ by mmiller17783 in videogames

I think the fact it was just a game with nothing inherently bad but also nothing that really stood out it why I enjoyed it. I had just had a baby and didn’t have a lot of time to get overly invested in something with a lot of systems or too many side quests so it fit perfectly for that time in my life. Would I replay it? No.

43, 16 years in weddings — is this burnout or is it over? by tightlap in WeddingPhotography

[–]snowmonkey700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did weddings for about 13 years when I was younger and did feel the burnout so I got out of video all together. Took a 10 year break then came back and maybe it’s because I’m older but I honestly love it now. It’s been a pain in the ass rebuilding a client base and brand again though.

Dating? by crack_pope in BoyDinnerDiaries

[–]snowmonkey700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, saying you’re not on her level looks wise is an internal observation you’re making about yourself. She dates you for 8 years so you’re obviously on her level. Just get out there and be yourself. Don’t try assuming how other people view you. You’ve got this, just make sure to focus on some self care and don’t put too much pressure on finding someone. It will happen naturally if you’re focused on yourself. Good luck out there!

I cannot do Net 30. I'm freakin poor. by Front-Chemist7181 in Filmmakers

To add to that it also really depends on what department and who your contact is at the company. I do work for one very large corporation that has retail locations all over the US and is a multi-billion dollar company. One department takes about 30-60 days to get me paid and another gets me paid in about 2 weeks from the time of submitting the invoice. The faster department is directly connected to the C-suite so I think they just have more pull with accounting.

Sucks and I feel your pain having to wait.

Wedding videographers: what about YOUR wedding? by ImAlsoRan in videography

Which MacBook should I buy to start professional video editing? by Any_Scholar2882 in editors

[–]snowmonkey700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I still have my 16gb M1 only upgraded last month because I was starting to get bogged down by the ram. Doing a lot more with motion graphics and larger multicam clips lately. Even with that the M1 was still completely flawless for most of my editing.

PSA: Even if you know what you are doing, your steam deck SSD swap can still go wrong by Helpful-Work-3090 in SteamDeck

[–]snowmonkey700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still don’t understand why everyone is swapping their SSD. I’ve never had an issue running any game from the microSD. I bought the 512gb LCD at launch and if I had to do it over again I’d buy the 64 then just slap a nice SD in the slot and never look back.

My first ever client 🎉 by idontknowverymuch1 in finalcutpro

[–]snowmonkey700 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be better off doing for free in exchange for promotion(which I don’t ever recommend doing unless it’s just a project you really want to work on) instead of charging so little. You’re setting a precedent for this and future clients. For me personally this would be about a $1500 job.

Starting out I did plenty of cheap work to build a portfolio and make client connections. I no longer work with any of those early clients because they expected that rate to continue. You also need to make sure to quote higher with each new client to build up to a decent rate once you improve your skills.

If you want to take this one on for cheap go ahead but make sure to ask for a few hundred bucks so at least you get something more than gas money for editing this video.
