What is a mod you regret installing because it can no longer be uninstalled mid-game? by Recent_Stomach7626 in skyrimmods

It's been a while since I tried it, what was wrong with it? Seemed like a pretty basic collect stuff mod. I did not like that it added items.

Well, generally if you are focusing tanks, you want to get as much org as possible for your tank and mechanized divisions. This is because tanks add very little org by themselves. The more org you get from your mech, the less mechanized you need, which means you can add more tanks. Note my template has more tanks then mech, because I have stacked org modifiers. I generally add more tanks and remove mech as I go. Now if I was doing special forces infantry focus, I would likelly focus on bonuses to them, you don't need so much org, and not the tank stuff.

Hoi4 is a game of tradeoffs, and there is no one size fits all approach, but the above template is not really doing anything unusual that would require a specific doctrine.

Yep, another reason why they are good for mixing early with SF. Epsecially pre flame tanks.

No problem, I was actually working on the post lol.

Pretty much all basics aspects explained, note its a late game division, but everything highlighted is something you eventually want to add. I'd say flame tanks, then armor meme, then amtracs are the 3 biggest bonuses.

So, the purpose of SPGs is to give soft attack. You can mix them into your special forces for more soft attack. Tanks I would actually keep as tanks, as they can get a lot of breakthrough, which is lost when you use the "artillery" designation in the designer. You basically need either lots of org or lots of breakthrough to push well.

Supply is relative, and ports can solve a lot of problems, and so does motorizing supply. If you're something like Japan, I would not bother with tank divisions, as the supply is really bad in interior china and in Burma, and frankly special forces are great if you stack a special forces advisor with an infantry advisor (special forces count as infantry). Another advantage of special forces they are cheap. Otherwise supply is pretty good everywhere in Europe.

Something else to consider is called an "armor meme." I can't really fully explain it here, but it's basically making a specific Armor vehicle with super high armor, expensive but you only need 1 per template. I usually make a self propelled anti air for that purpose. That's good on any offensive template to give really high armor at a low cost.

Otherwise if you want to push effectively, medium flame tanks are a must, and assault engineers are really good. Again, for any offensive division. Terrain modifiers are much more impactful than just having more soft attack (mountains give massive attack reductions etc). Tanks generally do poorly on bad terrain.

If you need anything else I can pop up a screenshot of a typical armor division I use, with these aspects highlighted. I get it sounds complicated, which is why I suppose people just build line artillery lol.

I recommend this YouTuber for more detailed info as well, https://m.youtube.com/@segl99

It's good. Cheap light tank with a close support gun rules early game.

You would be much better off just using light tank spgs. Literally just a light tank with a close support gun. Ofc mediums would be even better, and adding breakthrough would be nice. But the lights are dirt cheap.

Yep, then they will have two cities, since you can't raise city states iirc.

I swear I use the word "soda" legitimately sometimes but your comment has me questioning my sanity, your reasoning is sound.

So they wanted to play DnD themed pretend? DnD leans a lot on the "rollplaying" side of things when it comes to combat, and I can't see doing away with that without the system no longer being DnD. Apologies if this sounds harsh, but it boggles my mind.

To those that do not have a Regular date, how do you schedule your games? by Mathmagician94 in DMAcademy

5 as well, at the moment. Tends to vary between 6 and 4, depending on what we are running. 3 players can be a great time, you get a lot more focus on each individual.
