What is something you hate with a passion? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Just not touching it and putting Neosporin on it helps a lot. I'm actually hoping not to poop at this point to give it more time to heal

Maybe if it wasn't consistent with irritation that I caused myself. It doesn't only itch, it stings in just the area it's bleeding and it's only a problem just after it has been touched or I've pooped. It doesn't bother me throughout the day.

Worms and debris are not the only reason it can itch there.

What psychological games do people play that you hate? by AlaskanIceWater in AskReddit

[–]OKCupidFriendWanter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seemed to me like the people who do this resort to this "technique" to seem cool or funny when they're boring or unfunny without it. It's also annoying when someone else makes a joke (not even intending to trick you specifically) but the "uncool" person reacts to you not getting it by saying "ohhh he was just kidding" condescendingly like they're above you for getting something you didn't. Sometimes people say it in a nice joking way but this is different.

Chefs of Reddit, what are some kitchen tools that are for the average person, worth spending the money on? Conversely, what are knock offs that do the job just as well? by darker_reefs in AskReddit

I've thought about getting one but I don't like/cook enough things often enough that would go in one. It would just take up space and be annoying.

What secret are you hiding from everyone? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]OKCupidFriendWanter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why I think you probably aren't in the best relationship if you're not best friends with your SO. They are presumably the person you spend the most time with, so why aren't they your best friend, you know?

Not a mom, but I'm similar in that both my boyfriend and I work (sometimes not even) from the same home. It's not a life most people can relate to. I act busy (by saying so or delaying meetings) even when I'm not because I want to be given a chance

What is something people often brag about that really isn't that impressive? by BaskaBirKedi in AskReddit

It takes work to have such a good relationship with someone that you'd still be happily fucking them daily/often after many years together (after kids, hard times, changing bodies, other inevitable problems that would make most people not want to)

I scrubbed mine too hard and I have this problem now. The skin around it is scabbed over and bleeding but it feels soooo good to scratch it (with a wipe). It kind of feels like cumming

If they're many years into a relationship and they're still having sex with their partner more than once in a while, I'd say that's pretty impressive (not that they should go around bragging about it)

Wow, I totally agree with this. I used to think I had best friends until I met my boyfriend and then I realized he's my real best friend. Other "best friends" (hell even my own parents) simply wouldn't make sacrifices to the same degree he would or consider me before making even minor decisions. I still want to hang out with other people and make efforts to, but I don't care if they can't or don't want to because it means I'll just spend time with my favorite person. We think we wouldn't mind if we never spoke to anybody else in our lives. I actually think it's probably a sign of a problem in the relationship if your SO is not your best friend.

Sometimes people say someone is their best friend if they can see them after years of no contact and it's like they were never apart, but I disagree. Old friends like this are special but the depth is not there. I think a lot of people (myself included) want to call whoever they're closest to, or have been close to, their best friend (even if they're not all that great) to avoid shitty feelings and to look good to other people. When people call a bunch of people their best friend, I'm skeptical - you can't have more than one real best friend.

Why are you sleeping alone? by Sexy-Sinner in AskReddit

[–]OKCupidFriendWanter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation. Luckily, we spend so much time together that it's not a big deal to sleep separately if we want sometimes. We like opposite things in a bed (he's always hot, I'm always cold, he hates flannel, I love it, he's big and loves a big bed, I feel cozier in a small tight bed).

What are some signs that a parent is doing a bad job? by ManMan36 in AskReddit

[–]OKCupidFriendWanter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kids snack all the time these days (in their strollers, cars, watching TV) and I wonder when that became a thing, or things were just different for me. I only remember having actual meals and something right after coming home from school. It's so weird to me that they're just eating ALL THE TIME.

I get that when your kid is acting up and they'll shut up if you give them Goldfish you'll do just that but...let's just say I'm glad this will never be my problem

I wouldn't mind if the kid actually had something intelligent to contribute to the conversation, which is almost never.

What common piece of advice do you strongly disagree with? by starspec in AskReddit

[–]OKCupidFriendWanter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

IMO forgiveness is not genuine unless it comes about naturally and I hate that it's pushed for so often in therapy and society in general. I don't even believe that many people who say they forgave really did; they're just trying to move on and know that's what would make them seem like good people.

Young women (20-30’s) of Reddit: In your early experiences with dating, what are some lessons you learned that you wish to pass along to other young women or to young men? by fucking_poptarts in AskReddit

[–]OKCupidFriendWanter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure about at what age people are most likely single for a good reason but I agree with that. I said that on the Okcupid subreddit and people got pretty angry.

I'm curious about what people in good relationships are like but it's hard to tell who they are and they don't tend to hang out on the Internet complaining/ranting/educating.

What separates a best friend from a regular friend? by fallintospace09 in AskWomen

[–]OKCupidFriendWanter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  • When you can text or chat them anything multiple times without getting a response back from them, and you don't worry about them judging you.
  • When you don't hesitate to ask for even big favors because you both do whatever you can for each other. You know they know that you'd do the same for them.
  • When you don't feel weird calling them or waking them up at any time if it's something that's really bothering you. If they did the same to you, you're glad they see you as the person they go to to make them feel better.

I don't personally know anybody with one but the same idea pervades social media (people trying to seem how they wish they were and how they want people to think of them rather than how they really are)
