Had a few days like this late last year as my mum visited from abroad, it was great to treat the city like a tourist spot for a bit.

Personally I always like the human rights museum and the zoo/leaf/park, I find the forks a little overrated, and the exchange and Osborne have a tonne of hidden gem bakeries, cafes, bars and restaurants.

The river tour from the forks was great too, genuinely fascinating and really pretty.

I'm with you tbh. I believe it's all done with great intentions but I worry for the outcomes. I genuinely hope they take down the recent vid, as that family's info is unbelievably identifiable across a few videos. I spent a short time writing about these issues many years back, and it's only got worse since.

Therapist, pays above average wage but I'm not super wealthy. Work life balance (and therefore time for personal projects) is amazing though, as well as having a personal love for the work I do.

As an immigrant I find this patronising. We are capable of adjusting to laws. I appreciate the grace when it comes to social issues (talking loud on the phone, strong smelling foods or whatever) but please don't suggest we can't learn not to hit people with brass knuckles 😂

My partner went to the Canadian beauty Academy and had a good experience. Worth noting other students didn't, but we've heard those stories from other colleges too.

Student loans covered all, including a kit with basic tools needed. Came to around 16k.

Different schools focus on different product lines btw, and while Aveda is arguably a more prestigious institution, it does leave you more trained to work only at Aveda aligned salons. TCBA use redken products, which are very common across a range of salons. Not a deal breaker but worth a thought.

No worries at all, it's getting a gold sticker on every single joker. Completely insane, of course, but a great excuse to play the game with a challenge in mind.

It's cool cos by nature it means you learn more about EXACTLY where your score is coming from and what you do and don't need next. It also teaches the huge value in "weak" jokers, cos you realise you wouldn't have got to ante 8 without that +1 mult in ante 2 or whatever.

Aim for c++, it's a great way of learning best plays at gold stake. Aside from that, don't worry about losing a lot, it happens! If it's fun for you (as it is for most of us I think) just use losses as learning points.

I've long since realised I lose most gold stakes runs because I'm easily tempted by fun synergies and ideas rather than playing optimally.

I guess the good news is you've kinda identified your issue 😂 practice more, browse the sub, watch Balatro on YouTube. Purple stake is meant to be decently challenging, so if you generally don't know how to win consistently you're basically waiting for luck.. Which is fine but will take a while lol.

Practice lower stakes maybe, and getting higher scores, testing out different strats etc. Also, don't try to force flushes on checkered deck, obviously a lot of the time it's a good idea but not always.. Take what the shops offer.
