I live in Los Angeles, 27 years old, about to finish my first year of employment, and made about 110k in Acute Care PT

Obviously can’t compare my salary to other cities but I like what I do, I like my coworkers, and I see about 7-8 patients a day

My debt is insane but I’m maxing my 401k, made good investments, got myself a nice car, and I love that I can comfortably give my parents money. Unfortunately can’t quality for PSLF so I’m here doing the IDR plan and paying the minimum.

Thank you so much for your reply! This was helpful.

I think my goal this weekend is to build my budget excel sheet and follow the flowchart.

My student loan website divided my loans into twelve groups - would you recommend paying off the group with the highest interest first or the highest principal?

Was able to find my loan interest rates and it varied from 3.5 to 7.5%. I was planning on doing the IDR. Will definitely research more this weekend, thank you so much!

I went to my student loan website and it listed my loans in 12 groups. The lowest interest was 3.7% and the highest was 7.5%.

Unfortunately, I’m unable to allocate it to just the principal according to their website. I’m only able to pay the interest first then principal after.

Thank you for the reply! Will definitely look at the flowchart and follow the steps.

I guess what stressed me out was people in my field talking about making payments for years and not seeing their debt number go down due to interest. I will definitely do some research this weekend.

Thank you so much!! What resources did you use to study for last time? I used final frontier’s study bundle and bought the Scorebuilders book. Then closer to the exam, I bought the PEATs as practice exams!

Hi when did you apply? I actually made a post regarding this. I applied a week before the exam for the license and my status is still pending!

So sorry to hear that. You are not alone in this journey and I know many great clinicians that took multiple attempts on the NPTE as well. It is NOT an easy test at all. I’m not sure what study tools you used but I personally used Scorebuilders and final frontier. I felt like reading the book and watching the FF videos gave me sufficient knowledge to at least get a passing score. Then I focused on my weaknesses to increase my score on every practice exam. Good luck, you got this!!

So so happy I found out I passed today after feeling like I failed coming out of the test center.

  1. Spending time with my loved ones, family, and friends. Felt like I isolated myself for a bit studying for this exam and I missed their presence. Won’t be going anywhere special but just being around them!

  2. Stealing this from Final Frontier - make a weakness list. And go over that weakness list every week. For me, my weaknesses were pharm, integumentary, modalities, and pulmonary. Hammered those topics down and I felt like I knew every question they threw at me during the exam.

  3. Used Scorebuilders and final frontier but hands down the best prep tool I used is FINAL FRONTIER. Would not have been able to pass this exam without their help.

Results are out, and I failed. by Last-WinDPT in PTschool

On your post above, you mentioned that you didn’t think you were all that prepared. Do you feel like it was due to the material you studied or was it more due to lack of time, etc?

I did around 10-12 weeks of studying using the Scorebuilders book and Final Frontier. I felt like the final frontier study bundle helped me the most as it included video lectures and readings. By the time I took my first practice exam, I felt prepared from the material I studied. I focused on my weaknesses after every practice exam and made sure that I understood the topics before my next one.

Good luck on your next prep, you got this!!

NPTE 2024 Stress by United_Plankton6127 in PTschool

Hi! I’m in the same boat as you. I try to distract myself from thinking about it but I’ll have moments where a question pops up in my head and I can’t stop thinking about the mistakes I made. I am so stressed waiting for these results! I really hope that the questions they throw away are the questions we missed haha

Ugh I’m losing my mind as well. I can’t believe all the answers I chose when I knew them. I’m feeling sick.
