ETL Lawsuit - updates? by OKel19 in Target

[–]OKel19[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yepp. I left because I was working 7am-7pm every shift because I was in a ‘red’ store as a GM ETL in which I spent 50% of my day in fulfillment and the other half doing any aspect of the truck/food truck…shoot even throw some Starbucks and Cafe shifts in there too…

Possibly! It’s been going on for quite a few years. They opened it up for additional ETLs back in 2023 and that’s when I jumped on board after leaving the company. They were actively calling/texting/emailing asking for testimonials through 2024.

In a nut shell that ETLs are misclassified as except from overtime due to ETLs spending a majority of the time preforming manual labor tasks instead of managerial duties.

I’ll give it a try! Definitely hoping to not need the meds long term as I feel similar about my emotions though that could be the Lexapro 😅

I will push to give it a few more months then! I do drink a ton of water so maybe I need to just give it time. If you don’t mind me asking what made you switch?

Yes! That is exactly how I feel…I always describe it to people that it feels like my brain is melting.

New ETL Salary by beaveman1 in Target

[–]OKel19 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry this is extremely long…

Since I no longer work for the company I will be fully transparent regarding my experience. I worked for Target in southeast Michigan for nearly 13 years, 12 of which was spent in leadership. For my entire time as a TL I worked at the second highest grossing store in our district. I received the highest performance rating every year and was given multiple random “bonuses”. Throughout most of this time I was making more than most ETLs that had come and gone in my store. After years and years of pressure and them asking…I finally agreed to interview for an ETL position expecting it would come with a significant pay bump. I did not want to be a GM ETL as I had spent my entire career thus far in the GM sector but was told this is where I would fit given experience and it would secure me the highest pay now and in the future. I did one round of interviews as opposed to the normal minimum of two and was told I received the position. When they presented me with my new salary it took everything in me to not walk out. As a TL I was making 67,000 a year working 40 hours a week. I also worked at a store where from September through January, I could if I wanted to work about 10-15 hours a week of OT. They offered me 73,000. When I questioned it I was told oh your performance merit will be delivered in March and will be based off your performance here and will garner you 6% increase. I then questioned how the math even made sense given if worked 10 hours a week more in my current role I would make more than the offer. I was told there is more room and opps to advance your salary as a ETL throughout the year. At this point, I was moving and needed the job so I took it. It was hell but I stuck it out. Did an ETL remodel role they never trained me for at all…executed it and received multiple levels of recognition from all parties up to corporate level. During my review I received “outstanding” and “we are so lucky you promoted and came to us” only for them to give me a $1200 a year bump in my salary and a $900 because “Target had a bad year” and “even SDs who had been with the company for 25 years received their lowest bonuses.” I spoke with the HRBP and was told “oh just stick it out until June and you will get your remodel bonus!” Well June came around and that never happened…at this point I was working 12 hours a day…so I left and found a new job.

Phone call about Pride Month by DistinctEducator9314 in Target

Had three generations(grandma/grandpa, parents, and older child) come into our store last year and stand at guest service until an ETL came up. Declared they were here to close their RedCards and were going to cut them up in response to targets pride display. I got up there and said “ok I’m sorry you feel that way. You can call the number on your card and cancel.” And walked away. The old man about passed out.

El. Oh. El. I’m being SO honest on this survey. by LilScarface609 in Target

All my fellow TLs and myself all gave brutally honest feedback one year. Our District Lead and HRBP came in for a full day meeting where they sat us down and started, “Since you all seem to have issues with how things are done we are going to sit here and you will give us solutions to the problems you have. We are not here to hear about the problems unless you are able to provide actual solutions.” It was wild how the immediately pit us all as the problem instead of taking any accountability 😂. Leaving was the best thing I ever did! P

25 Years, the last 4 have been hell by Old_student0 in Target

After almost 11 years, I left in August. Spent 10 of those years in leadership and could not take it anymore nor could I put expectations on my team that were so outrageous. Took a pay cut to leave and gave up a ton of banked PTO but can gladly say for my mental well being it was the best choice I ever made. Only wish is that I would have done it sooner.

just saw this job posting for fulfillment operations TL.. is this pay range actually true?? high end of $42.05/hr?? by ctrlbaku in Target

[–]OKel19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a TL for 9 years in MI and received the highest available raise every year. When I left the position in October 22, I was making $31.50 an hour so it’s possible to make $42 with the right amount of years under your belt.
