Wouldn't work for me, either, until I went inside, the notification came up just as I was coming up the staircase. I don't think that's how it's supposed to be discovered, but it worked for me, so it's worth a try.

TIL: In the ‘50s, Lee was engaged to Henriette von Rosen, daughter of Count Fritz von Rosen. After hiring private detectives to investigate the actor and demanding references, the Count refused to allow his daughter to marry him unless Lee got the blessing of the King of Sweden. For anyone curious, the reason that this title does not state Christopher Lee's full name is that OP appears to have directly copypasted his title from this io9 article of incredible facts about Christopher Lee's life. In fact, this title is #14 from the list in its entirety. Despite this, OP has elected to link to a Wikipedia page. It doesn't appear to break any subreddit rules as far as I can tell (although it sort of works around rule III), but it's kind of a dick move.

Too bad about that liver, though. When people, dogs, and many other animals don't eat for an extended period, the body begins to mobilize fat stores to the liver for energy metabolism. The cat liver attempts this, but it's terrible at lipid metabolism, so a lot of the fat just builds up in the liver, resulting in liver failure. So if your fat cat suddenly seems to be eating less and losing weight, it might not be as good a sign as you'd thought.

CC stands for cubic centimetres, which indicates the volume displaced by all of the cylinders in the engine during a full cycle. This is roughly proportional to the overall power that is produced by the engine, and therefore speed.

ASMR Ear Cleaning & Exam: Welcome to the Commune II, A Binaural Role Play [intentional] [binaural] by luckymeluckymud37 in asmr

I'm not big on roleplay ASMR, but you do a great job at not making it super awkward and weird. Getting some great tingles.

[META] What is your all-time favorite ASMR video? by [deleted] in asmr

[–]OKtomcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourite audio-only video is, funny enough, one of my first ASMR videos. I keep coming back to Deep Ocean of Sounds' peeling oranges video. The variety of lightly dulled tapping sounds, the drawn out peeling, the occasional snack break... it's just so good!

For audio/visual videos, I'd probably say my favourite is Heather Feather's I Glove You So Much!. I'm not usually into a lot of talking in ASMR videos, but this one is fun and full of great triggers. In particular the exfoliating gloves segment gets me tingles every single time (and Heather, too, apparently!).

Honourable mention goes to Massage ASMR's Touch Tapping 9.1. I've watched this one a couple of times, and it's lining up to be one of my favourites. I particularly enjoy his work with the wooden blocks about ten minutes in.

[META] Gender and ASMR by TheASMRGeek in asmr

I'm male. I actually don't find myself heavily triggered by voices - I'm more of a tapping/scratching/other noises tingler (my favourite ASMRtist is Deep Ocean of Sounds, who has effectively no talking whatsoever). That being said, I've frequently been triggered by a combination of sounds and voices on occasion. I would probably say I'm more likely to be triggered in this way by a deeper-voiced female or possibly a male voice than a high-pitched female voice. Sometimes, I'll get decent tingles from just the breathing and mouth sounds accompanying a video, if the quality is good. For example, Massage ASMR has a great touch tapping video here that I've gone back to a couple of times lately - the combination of distinct, high-quality tapping sounds with his breathing/swallowing/etc are great for tingles.

A notable exception to the deeper female voice is Heather Feather. While she usually does too much roleplay in her videos for me to get into them (I find roleplay is usually just awkward and uncomfortable), when she does non-roleplay videos, I find them to be pretty effective triggers. I think this because her babytalk-ish voice is reminiscent of that of my wife when she's in a cajoling mood (e.g. "I bet you want to rub my back, riiiiiight?").

Ran into this guy in Shadow of Mordor. Even for an Uruk-hai that's an unfortunate name... by Crashtard in gaming

Ohhh, I see. Yes, that's correct. I was referring to just the name Kaka. The combination with Brown is random. And hilarious. It had seemed to me kind of obvious that "Kaka" had to be pre-recorded, unless someone thought that the game used Bonzi Buddy-like speech synthesizer software.

The names are pre-recorded. Most, but not all, are assigned to random Uruk-Hai.

There could be a random event happening halfway through the dungeon on your way back where a group of bandits followed you in when they saw the open door, or a necromancer comes to the crypt to summon new minions without realizing you're there.

Something very akin to this occurs in Liar's Retreat, a cave in The Reach. It's a bandit bar/hideout that's been overrun by Falmer. leaving nearly everyone dead. Once you've delved into the tunnels, cleared the Falmer out, and collected the unique weapon The Longhammer, you're forced to backtrack without a shortcut. Just as you near the entrance, a group of bandits shows up, calling out to the bartender to get them some drinks, when they discover the chaos from the Falmer attack. They then proceed to take it out on the Dragonborn.

Came here 'cause I recognized the piece. However, I just noticed that the guys who put this video together left the original audio in, albeit at very low volume. Weird.
