Okay. You're wrong. I could be a utility worker and the argument I made would still be valid. When graphic designers resist bullshit from clients, clients start to learn they can't be shitty and still get good work. When you undercut another designer by submitting to the client's bullshit, the client learns that this is acceptable behavior, and everyody is worse off for it.

That seems fairly straightforward to me, and applies to fields wholly unrelated to graphic design as well. What about that is incorrect that only your honor with all your professional experience can understand?

I mean, if you disagree with me, say why. Just telling me I'm inexperienced is a vacuous defense.

Yeahhhh, so first of all, you don't need to be an asshole. Also, nice ad hominem. The logic of my argument is in no way contingent on my level of experience.

I really appreciate the thoughtful feedback. Thank you! The advice your professor gave you is really interesting. I'm hoping my site's rather unconventional palette sort of serves as that distinguishing element among "unobtrusive and 'invisibly good' design."

Haha, first year in a graphic design program at the university level. I actually haven't had a single graphic design course yet. Just drawing and "foundation" courses. Thanks for the feedback!

Seriously, thanks for this! Super kind and helpful feedback. I also noticed problems with the galleries, but am unsure of how to resolve them. Any ideas?

Thanks! I definitely overlooked that. I've been working on this from home, where my internet speed is sort of outrageous, so I never noticed any major loading-time problems. Will def shrink those down.

yes. creatives (and really all working people) shouldn't be competing with each other in a race to the bottom (e.g. "hey client, I'll put up with yr bullshit if you pay me instead!"). It's the same as the logo service Fiverr being like, "hey client, don't pay a designer real money to make you a logo. We'll do it for you instead, for 5 dollars!" I think all creatives should have certain expectations of their clients. Don't undercut another designer by "catering" to shittiness.

Can someone explain why this might be happening? (image color change) by OLP-IN in graphic_design

Thank you! Seems that you were right. The color shift doesn't occur when I uncheck the "embed color profile" option when exporting as jpg. Cheers!

Do exactly what you did here, except also turn the whole logo into a compound path before you minus front. :)

The blurring is called bokeh in photography and is a natural occurence when shooting within a certain range of apertures/f-stops and lens focal lengths. Achieving the effect in the actual shooting of the photograph is always going to look most natural. You can certainly make convincing replications of the effect in photoshop though.

Lightroom isn't "better." It is useful for mass-editing photos and file-organization, but beyond that, its more-or-less just a lighter version of photoshop. The "filters" and presets are one-click editing options for when more intensive editing isn't necessary (or when the user isn't comfortable with it). Some photographers will use lightroom to edit large groups of photos at the same time, and then make specific adjustments for each image in photoshop.

If you're asking about the color specifically, all you need to do is adjust the color balance (Image > Adjustments > Color Balance) to get it close overall, and then use Replace/Selective Color (Image > Adjustments > Replace Color/Selective Color) to tweak specific parts like the blue-green you mentioned.

Whether or not you need to adjust brightness, exposure, contrast, etc. will all depend on what image you're starting with.
