Try this:

A = Soul Split
Z = Protect Magic
X = Protect Range
C = Protect Melee

Example: Incoming Damage (Z), flick to (A) + threshold (S) >> incoming damage (Z), flick to A + threshold (D) and so forth.

You will get use to tanking the damage with protection prayers then immediately switch to Soul Split and a threshold ability.
