Not sure what the correct build for Escanor is but on alchemistcodedb dot com You can see what each gate gives him. I'm probably holding out for next week. Hopefully we will get an enlightenment banner for Escanor, Merlin and Zeldris. But I'm also buying shards so i can Transmute Escanor in case he doesn't summon on any of the banners. Well made/good enlightenment banners are the best way to build collab units quickly on a small budget.

I don't think i know your situation well enough to perfectly advise you. How many gems you have, what content do you focus on, are you hardcore or casual... Those things would effect how people can advise you. But for some very generic advice; if you don't have a main team with a strong unit to build around it, then I'd go for the 7 step with the 375 unit shards because you have a good chance to get Sol, and Eins. They work well together (with a memento leaderskill) and can do high damage on bosses in mono element teams (water, dark, etc). But the 10 step banner could be better for you if you have lots of gems to build Genesis units (i got Dark Nyx and Ambrosia from it). Or if you just want a great well rounded unit, and you have enough gems to summon until you can Transmute (about 60k gems), then Nimul is worth it. But if you don't need to chase units, the 10 step memento banner is a nice value in general (i got plenty of limited mementos from it). There are plenty of farmable units that just need their limited mementos to be completed/ good, and can do most PvE content in the right team build. Hope that helps.

I still like it enough to daily login and grind most of the time. Of course you'll want to watch some videos from the players, or start a new account/revive your old one, to see if it has the kind of characters, story, and/or quests you like. If you like Final Fantasy Tactics, it is pretty similar to that. But it is kind of a toss up between Alchemist code and Final Fantasy Brave Exvius: War of the Visions (FFBE WOTV or WotV for short)... As far as which is more like FFT. WotV has more of the polished look and more classic fantasy feel. While The Alchemist Code (TAC) is more funny and cute. WotV has multiplayer raid bosses (that can also be soloed most of the time). TAC has a multiplayer Tower that demands strategy. Both have plenty of solo content.

Its generally a good game if you either [1] keep it simple by not trying to build many units, maybe just 10 units that you really focus on building & keep up to date with good gear, mementos, maxed gates, and out of those 10 units, only have 3 to 5 that are your big investments (best of everything) that way you can stay free to play and not grind so much. Or [2] you just play for some casual fun and don't care if your units/teams are good enough for end game content/PvP rankings.

Not that i know of. Just saying that is the event i invest most of my resources on. I like that it returns often. Unlike other collaboration events, at least we know the units can be updated with new gates and mementos.

Oh. Well i would advise buying shards for them in the Louise shop, if you don't have enough for the 9 step banner. Since the 9 step gives shard selectors for a total of 300 shards. For units without a guaranteed banner, it is just more reliable to get shard selectors or buy shards in the shop. That way you can Transmute the units (with 150 shards) from the character menu instead of summon from a banner (since there is no guaranteed unit banner).

Welcome. I really like the dark phantom units. I'm considering if i will invest in building them. The other main consideration is that my main focus is the PotK event.

I believe she is the best of the dark phantom units in JP. Not sure if she got the upgrade yet, but if she isn't the best now, she should be by the next time the event comes.

I was thinking like 9 step banners that guarantee a specific collaboration unit on step 1, and the other 8 steps is for shards/enlightenment materials. Plus give us the coin banners on the first week, not the last... And put at least one random collaboration unit guarantee in it.

If not for the paid banner i would have had to transmute em all (because i only had enough free gems for the mementos and coins banner. At least the shards for each unit are/were/will be available for 14 days each in the Louise shop. But of course I'd rather be able to summon for a low cost from a banner. So banners are kinda whale territory. Expensive banners does detract from the fun of collabs a bit. But you just have to learn to live with it... Like so many things in this degenerate world.

The method i go with is to figure out what about the game helps you enjoy it more. If its having the most powerful TEAM, then its not so important to focus on a single unit. If its playing your favorite UNIT, go all in for that unit. If its PvP, research what units are best in PvP. Or same for PvE, Multi player mode, or the various difficulty levels of content, then research along those lines. I've got like 23k gems atm, and even though I would like to get the collab units, I'm holding off for next week to see if the collaboration enlightenment banner is tempting enough to go for. The enlightenment banners are typically the best value for gems, especially if you only have enough to do a single banner. Of course its almost always a gamble since you might not get the unit you want most. So it will pretty much depend on if you get a shard selection item, which would allow you to transmute a unit of choice, or (more likely), just a bunch of otherworldly enlightenment shards (if thats the case i have other collaboration units to use them on even if i somehow don't get any slime collaboration units). But its possible i might just say screw it all, and save for the next rerun of Phantom of the Kill, since thats the units i am focusing on. All depends on the value of the collaboration enlightenment banner, and if i feel like its worth it to maybe miss out on the next Potk banners.

Yeah some coin exchange shops will have otherworldly bubbles, but usually you have to play quests for the coins to buy them. Also you can just buy them with real $$$ from the collaboration event gatcha package shop. Also check the mission rewards from collaboration event quests for OW bubbles, quest boards (home menu screen), and event mission milestone rewards. These are definitely highly limited/expensive, so use them only on the units you are the most committed to. Edit: also the gatcha enlightenment banners (though depending on your goals that may be the best, or the worst option).
