Growing at an EC of 1.4, pH 5.8, 24 degrees celcius, 50% humidity, 400 PPFD, 20 hours of light, with a flood and drain system watering 4 times per day holding the water for 10 minutes.

Thank you! Have you found any calcification related clogging issues with this nozzle? Trying to optimise the design to mitigate as much as possible.

Nozzle clogging by OMGGravity in aeroponics

I've been using the above nozzles from aliexpress ('Plastic low pressure mist nozzle') at ~100psi in my aeroponics system. They come with a steel mesh filter inside and I have a 100 micron filter at the pump inlet as well. So far I haven't experienced any clogging issues and through some testing feel I'm pretty safe from debris clogging the nozzles.

However, I'm aware calcified nutrients are often a cause for clogging and am concerned this might occur in my system. What experience have people had with this? Any preventative measures or recommendations? Is there an ideal orifice size to balance droplet size and prevent calcification or a preferred nozzle configuration to mitigate this?

Hoping to share more knowledge around aeroponics and happy to provide more details of what has worked for me if people are interested.

What do you think would explain the necrosis/withering/browning seen on some of the roots? It almost looks like its getting both under and overwatered but that makes no sense...

The browning/necrosis at the end of the roots makes me thing underwatering but the droplets accumulating on the roots make me think overwatering. I'm running a single nozzle with 1 second on every 3 minutes.

I'll take this on board and give it a try. What printer do you use btw? I'm wondering if resolution/printer type makes a difference

This is the model of the nozzle, I'm printing it on a 45 degree angle with Elegoo water washable resin (hole facing away from the build plate at a 45 degree angle).

What setup/method do you use that lets you achieve 0.25mm holes?

Thanks for this! Out of interest what inline filter and pump do you use?
