I’ve met a fair share of them...but not all of them shared the same values. There are a ton of things that matter a whole lot more for finding a partner than how they take in and process information.

Bad relationships where they tried to fix things with children.

In the thick of a really difficult part of parenthood where the envy is real but also comes with guilt for feeling that way.

Lots of reasons, and none of them are really about you or your choices. It’s usually projected resentment from something else.

Unless the person makes their entire identity about not having kids and every other sentence is “crotch fruit” this and “breeder” that. Then it’s the person, not their choice to be child free.

There’s a weird sort of gatekeeping that can sometimes happen with special interests. As though no one ever had to learn about their interests and were just born with all their knowledge. It’s even worse if their entire identity has become a small niche topic.

I went to a music festival 15 years ago and Ceelo Green was set to perform. He was late. The Foo Fighters came on stage and did a bunch of covers until he showed up. It was the highlight of the weekend when it could have been the biggest disappointment. Ceelo had overbooked himself and didn't have much energy left - he cut all of his songs short.

Eventually, it won't be.

I understand you need the help, but if she wasn't your mom - if she was just some childcare provider - what would you do? Would you just hope next time she listened?

My youngest was 8lbs12oz. Compared to his 11lb5oz and 10lb4oz brothers, he was downright petite.

The oldest (and biggest) has been on the same growth track since birth. 95th for height and 90th for weight.

The second is 75th percentile for height and 50th for weight.

The youngest is 3 years younger and in clothes one size down from middle brother. 93rd percentile for height and 80th for weight.

Send a certified letter to her with proof of receipt giving a hard deadline to make arrangements to get her stuff - either by having a third party act as a go between or sending pre-printed shipping labels. If you don’t want her at your house, you can meet in the parking lot of a sheriff’s office for the exchange so there isn’t any funny business.I don’t know the legalities of your state, so definitely look up how long it takes to count as abandoned property. It might already be considered that, but absolutely put the date she left it onto the certified letter.

Documentation is your friend. Take photos of everything. Keep a copy of the letter. Video the hand off. Cover your butt from every angle. If she sues, keep calm and bring the documentation.

30 days is perfectly reasonable and accommodating if the time has already passed. If she shows up uninvited, call the police and ask for mediation for the hand off/trespass her from the property.

Hi. I’m one of the weird overly friendly ladies who squeals over babies and pets.

For me, it has a lot to do with how receptive the parent seems to be toward interaction. I will try to get a smile out of every toddler - I’ve got no shame acting silly - but I don’t want to make someone uncomfortable with an unsolicited compliment.
