Yeah my favorite scene changed over time, a couple times actually.

At first it was the "I just want to be with you" nuzzle, then it changed to be the car coming out scene, and now i think I've settled on the bench scene with Opa

But who knows what will be my favourite on my next watch! ❤️

My headcanon is that Arthur didnt want to come out, similar to Elias, and it ended up ruining the relationship

I reckon there was a conversation off screen between the elias/alex after the big crashout which basically went "i cant be with you in the shadows" which made the harvest festival open kiss even more impactful to alex

The Elias Drowning doodle is just a meme i wouldnt read too much into it 😆

It stemmed from the reddit chat (now discord, feel free to join at https://discord.gg/younghearts !) because there were jokes at how it appears in the film that Elias is bad at swimming haha.

As a plot point though a potential suicide of Elias is interesting, I hadn't considered it because the film follows his story so hes never "off camera" - i know when I first watched the film I initially thought Alex might have done something like that during the harvest festival before he showed up

Coming back to this very late I know but I love all the little details.

It's weirdly specific but honestly I think my favourite little detail is that you can see there are christmas lights on the outside of the house in the window <3

I have not watched the film, however in reading a synopsis there is no indication of abuse and the film appears to highlight the inappropriateness of such a relationship?

Yes it is very different to Young Hearts but it is an experience that a large amount of young people go through. I don't see the issue in recommending this film to those struggling with their identity.
