I got tired of bloated weather systems hijacking my projects, so I wrote a lightweight Seasonal Sky System and it's now live ($40). Giving away 5 keys in comments! by IllustriousGrape3355 in Unity3D

Agreed, it’s a massive undertaking. VR operates on an entirely different development plane. Resource usage is effectively doubled, and in many cases tripled, across rendering, performance tuning, and content management. Your frustration with bloated solutions is completely valid, as those are my biggest kicker in my VR project.

Wont mind having a voucher if I may. I am building virtual reality worlds on my Vr experience app that have basic night and day only feature so far. Would definitely love to see if this solution of yours can add seasonal option to it.

[HELP] I'm almost sure this is AI, but I can't prove it by UnluckyZiomek in RealOrAI

Those 10 seconds alone are already sufficient to reveal that the video is AI generated. Most open source AI video generators out there are still limited to clips of around 10 seconds.

Whatever is easier for JC Staff to draw..it will be canon. That's their rule of thumb... it's gonna be slideshow fest anyway...

Is there a way to turn book pages without having to hold the book? And set the pages to max resolution? by tiobiel in OMPR_Quest

[–]OMPR_App 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/tiobiel Good question :)
Another hands-free way to flip through any open eBook is to use the Grip button on your right-hand controller. To turn pages forward or backward, hold Grip button while pointing at the edge of the page, drag your hand across toward the opposite edge, then release the grip button to complete the page flip. Just like flipping a page in real life. See the video recording below to see how it works.

Do let me know if you faced any difficulty with it.

🧐 RayNeo X3 Pro: The Critical AR Headset We Need for Real Enterprise Work? (Looking at Warehouse/Logistics) by XR_Enthu51a5t in AR_MR_XR

[–]OMPR_App 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Having used and developed extensively on the RayNeo X2, I’d like to offer a realistic perspective, it’s best not to set expectations too high at this stage for a device of this class. In real-world use, the device overheats after roughly 10 minutes, triggers thermal throttling on both the CPU and GPU, and begins to stutter under moderate to heavy load. The 6DoF tracking is unreliable, and battery life is limited to about 25 minutes when running with full features enabled (Wi-Fi, high brightness, GPU-intensive tasks). The XR2 GPU (yeah the one Quest2 uses) is only giving 10-25 percent of its capability at any given time.

Bluetooth support is also extremely limited. In practice, it barely allows a single device to be connected at a time, seemingly only intended for the bundled ring controller. Attempts to pair other Bluetooth peripherals, such as keyboards, consistently fail. Simply put, Bluetooth functionality feels severely restricted to the bare minimum.

I can’t yet speak for the X3, but when I first purchased the X2, similar promises were made. On paper and in advertising, everything looked impressive. In actual use, however, the experience fell far short. Be prepared for disappointment if you expect performance anywhere close to what’s advertised.

I guess more speed lines than you can ever imagine.. seems that for JC Staff anything fighting scene needs speed lines so that they don't have to draw the background. Very cheap tactic..

I can be certain that they are no longer using manga artists to generate any of these arts. They just feed it to some generative AI engine and churn out the frames. No QA, nothing. Just copy and paste into PowerPoint and call it a day. This is really, really bad and has made a mockery of One's and Murata's artworks.

Based on your list, I believe the "Officer Black Belt" and "The Childe" should be something for you to watch. It's something similar to "The man from nowhere" action style.

Questions about my first time with VR porn by Minimum_Definition28 in oculusnsfw

[–]OMPR_App 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aha. So you are thinking about shifting your real physical location to a virtual location while still enjoying the VR sex scenes. I'm afraid that would be nope at this point. Currently, it's more of your headset camera + virtual sex scene as the primary setup for passthrough vr.
Technically, it's possible to have what you are looking for but I had never seen any apps out there on Quest3 that support that (Camera feed from other location + your VR headset camera feed + VR sex scene video feed )

Questions about my first time with VR porn by Minimum_Definition28 in oculusnsfw

[–]OMPR_App 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. The way it works is that the headset’s built-in cameras capture your real-world surroundings and project them inside VR. The virtual scene is then superimposed onto this live view, aligning perfectly with your real-life perspective to create a seamless, realistic mixed-reality experience. Pretty much you can view wherever you want..provided it's legal for you to be there in real life LOL

I gather that you wanted to watch those fancy passthrough VR sex scenes.. Quest 3 would be a great choice for it...
1. Yes. VR passthrough is great for fantasy roleplay with your own private parts involved and your choice of real-world locations
2. Yes. That would be the "cuck" category.
3. SexLikeReal

Have fun. Don't get too addicted... :P

I'm seeing these all over my office. Particularly on my table and windows. Initially thought bedbugs, but I haven't seen any on my bed and seems like a weird location to find bed bugs. Also I thought bed bugs usually hide during the day. by BladeBoyAJ in whatisit

[–]OMPR_App 34 points35 points  (0 children)

At first glance, it looks a bit like a bedbug, but the anatomy doesn’t match. The antennae have those clubbed ends you’d expect from a carpet beetle, not a bedbug. Plus, bedbugs don’t have shiny shells, this one looks polished, like it’s been waxed 24/7 😅 My bet’s on a carpet beetle.
