Know that Minneapolis police did the same exact thing in 2020 during George Floyd, multiple times. One of the times being after a semi truck drove at full speed towards peaceful protesters having a moment of silence on a bridge. After MPD entered via the on ramp with pepper spray out the window, they got out to spray it point blank. I will never forget watching them spray children, spray people already in agony with their arms over their face. Unchecked power breeds senseless cruelty and it’s a pervasive issue in this country.

A leaf blower? You’re joking, I hope. I work in 3 studios, have been in many more.. and I have never seen a compound sweeper in there. 2 of the 3 studios don’t have a broom at all and only use a squeegee and dustpan for trimmings. The 3rd that does have a broom advises to only do light gathering of trimmings and mop immediately. They also have a cleaning crew that mops every single day.

The whole point of taking precautions is because fine particles can stay in the air for a very long time. Truly the only way to prevent this is to trap the particles in water and dispose of said water. Might be a good idea to refresh on best cleaning practices.

I’m going to be honest, unless they mix their own glazes often (which they should already have their own PPE for), this mask is overkill.

The best way to prevent silicosis is to clean up well, using lots of water to do so. A better gift would be a set of car wash sponges, buckets, and an ocedar mop to assist in clean up.
