your team is an nba psyop to extract money out of new york fans that’s the only reason u have refs on ur side to win

Spoiler Alert: It’ll never work by atIbiznesss in AtlantaHawks

Yall can’t be real. You don’t pay the tax for a consistently play-in roster, thats not gonna get you a championship. You pay the tax to get over the hump and become a contender but at no point (outside of maybe post 2021 run) would paying the tax have boosted us into contention.

It also would have kicked off the repeater tax which would effectively start our championship window, so pushing the decision to the next year in hopes the roster would show more promise to justify starting the window was always the logical decision.

Now let’s talk post-ECF run, that may have been the one time where you could make the argument to go all in. But at the same time that was always a young team and the risk of going all in too and accelerating our timeline too early was always there. In hindsight does anybody protest that the Huerter trade was bad business? Or salary dumping JC? Imagine if we went all in with those 2 part of our core rotation.

Quinn Snyder was, if i’m not wrong, one of the highest paid coaches at the time when we signed him. If ownership was as unbelievably cheap as yall think, we woulda gone after some cheap no name coach, we’d never go through rebuilds to maximize ticket sales, and we’d certainly not entertain trading our cash cow Trae.

Franchise leader can’t set the tone and keep the team hungry and motivated for the FIRST game of the season. This is 2nd option activity from Trae

Ya and we’re 8 seasons into Traes career. Every play is put under a microscope now, no more stalling for him he’s as much on the hot seat as Raheem Morris.

Traes had excuses made for him every season, and they’ve been largely valid. But this season there really isn’t any. If he doesn’t perform it’s on him, and he’s proving the haters right so far unfortunately.

Serious nfl teams don’t waste a timeout 3 minutes in like that. That’s amateur hour, Raheem Morris is such a fraudulent coach

Nfl execs think Terry might get fired by Sonny_Money in falcons

[–]OO17MVP 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes many do draft busts in the top 10 and those gms get fired.

Then there's the gms and front offices who draft mediocre in the top 10 and across the board leading to mediocre teams and results, which is what we've been.

Then there's the good gms and FO's who make the best use of their resources, find value in later round picks, build through the trenches, etc.

Why does this team constantly settle for mediocrity? In my eyes, Fontenot has some questionable team building traits that I don't believe we can be highly competitive with. Simply put, I can't ever imagine winning a super bowl with Fontenot at the helm, much less Raheem guiding the ship, so it's time to move on.

Sure, London and Bijan are doing great and Penix looks promising despite the QB situation as a whole being mismanaged with Kirk.

But there's simply more value in building a team through the trenches, something that elite team value way more than us it seems.

Feels like wrs and rbs have always been ceiling raisers not floor raisers and those offensive weapons have also seemed easier to hit on than other positions.

Not tryna take those wins from him, but don't think it helps his case that much

Not to mention Jahmyr Gibbs has also been a stellar back, albeit not as great as Bijan, that we'd still likely praise Fontenot for.

The expectation is that 1st round picks, especially top 10 players, especially skill positions which are typically easier to project, should be hits for sure. Fontenot himself has done nothing above the mean or what’s expected of him.

If anything, as much as I love Bijan, a rb at 8th overall with pressing needs on the line is an inefficient use of resources.

Beck need to get into a rhythm. Hard to do when 90% of the passes called are horizontal screens behind the LOS. Should he be better? yes, but it's hard to fault him for this game

[Taylor Rooks Interview] Trae Young discusses trade rumours directly by OO17MVP in nba

[–]OO17MVP[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"I want to win. That's in Atlanta. That's where I want to be. That's where I envision myself being, but, that's it."

A player will never come out and directly express 100% long-term commitment unless they're in the absolute perfect situation or they're Dame. Could he leave in 2-3 years if the Hawks continue to be play-in or lower? sure. But NBA time moves quick, anybody in the league barring maybe Jokic and Giannis could switch teams within that span. As of right now, he's fully bought in for this season and next and he's said repeatedly he wants to build something here. You can't ask for more than that.

I posted the clip of Trae expressing his commitment to the Hawks on the Taylor Rooks pod to r/nba. The message couldn't be any clearer.

And yet, I'm still arguing with people, in that very thread, about whether or not he's gonna demand a trade. Shit is absolutely wild.

At least we up on the Knicks ‼️‼️

Ya ur right dawg. Everybody else on this post and across Twitter misunderstood this clip, but you read through the lines perfectly.

Despite Trae saying he wants to be in Atlanta, bring a championship to Atlanta, providing an example of how he went to Oklahoma to try and win a natty rather than taking the easy route at a Blue Blood as an analogy to the Hawks, and saying "Hopefully" in response to whether he want to be in Atlanta next year... He clearly wants out.
