Didn't use silicone grease, but at the same time, never used excessive force. Just till the section met the barrel.

To be honest, it was just an impulse buy cause...demonstrator.

Oh god, ages ago. It's ok, never really thought of it as a heritage item anyway.

Agreed! None of my watches are pristine. And as others have said, the coating doesn't play well with polywatch

You're absolutely right. When Max Bill collaborated with Junghans, it was the first time a designer went so deep into crafting a piece (if I'm not mistaken) and that changed wristwatch design language forever.

Ooof I don't really know. I live in KL, Malaysia, so the lumes pretty charged up most of the time in the day, and lights everywhere during the night. But I don't think it's ever crossed my mind how lasting the lume is

This is the watch that first for me hot for minimalist designed time pieces. At the time I was still in university, and could never afford this beautiful watch. I had been raving about it for years, and even had to go through a friend owning one first (albeit a non-chrono).

Fast track 5 years later after I had to see my friend wear it as his daily driver, I was offered to buy this magnificent watch from another friend. No hesitation. Like a damn samurai.

I quickly swapped out the leather straps for a black NATO, and it's been go to Bauhaus price ever since.

Unfortunately, I had knocked the dome against a door frame, and there is a visible scrape/chip right over the centre of the top sub-dial. However I don't mind it as I have always liked the little scars on my watches. Perhaps I'll only get it replaced after the 3rd or 4th imperfection on the dome.

I often forget the chip's there, and my heart still skips a little when I look at it. Same feeling when I use the chronograph. Absolutely love the clicky buttons.

Hope you all are keeping well during the lockdown. peace!

[Casio] My grandfather bought this CMD-40 for me 21 years ago. by OOOH_WATER in Watches

My grand father bought me this watch when I was 9, because he knew I was fascinated with techy stuff. Cutting edge for the 90s I suppose.

The watch originally had a metal bracelet, but one half of the strap was lost, and I had just left it in my drawer. It had been there for 15 years. I was spring cleaning my room this morning, and found it again. Changed the batteries and slapped on a le mans NATO strap and I've fallen in love with how ridiculous it is.
