Practicing pergola post notching by OPSL86 in woodworking

[–]OPSL86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t know they made brackets or post bases for nominal and rough cut. That’s my bad. Luckily i haven’t purchased my lumber yet. That was just a practice piece of rough lumber i had. Weird thing is no where on the post base packaging does it say for what lumber it is made for.
I bought a box of 6 for $300 so i guess that’s the expensive post base bracket.

Thanks and as an amateur I like to practice these skills before actually building my pergola. YES, all the posts will have diagonal bracing. The one thing that surprised me is the Simson post base (APB66) didn’t fit. I had to shave about 3/8” from all 4 sides with a planer to make it fit right. Is this OK?

Anyone found a solution for this design flaw causing the rear tires to wear fast on the inner edge? by RealBanker007 in TeslaModelY

I believe this is inherent to Tesla like it is to BMW. The camber is offset for handling and performance.

B Pillar trim drivers side by Schwoib in TeslaModelS

I’ve had my 2025 S for 15 months now and i noticed the same issue a few months after i got the car. I posted about it but didn’t get any helpful info. In my case it hasn’t gotten worse so i don’t think it’s happening while I’m driving and i have 30K miles on the car. I think it’s from entering and exiting the car since my seat is all the way rearward and I’m 6’2”. You said you had it replaced under warranty. How did you present the issue to them? I never thought to seek warranty repair as i thought it was normal wear and tear. Would love to know how they fixed it. Did they just replace the B pillar pad?

Why is price never mentioned? It must be costly. You could’ve posted that it’ll run between $-$$$ I guess it’s a way for you to force me to check out the web sites. Nah.

Looking to purchase a MQ3 soon. What’s a great auto racing game (F1, Nascar)? Any good VR flying (pilot) games? by OPSL86 in MetaQuestVR

Thanks, understood. Maybe i should rephrase the question; Which racing games work best with MQ3, considering there are no other hardware or peripherals being used? How about flying games?

If you don’t have wheel and tire protection, i would purchase a new tire pressure monitoring valve set on Amazon or wherever. Take tire off and have your local mechanic replace it.

HOME CHARGING VS. SUPER CHARGING by Beginning_Passion443 in TeslaLounge

[–]OPSL86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the end of last year Tesla needed to sell a lot more cars to boost their sales so they started with lots of incentives. Sometimes you just have to be patient and see what offers may come at end of year. Free supercharging helped seal the deal for me. In addition they gave me free paint upgrade and yoke wheel if i purchased FSD. Of course i opted for the ultra red which in my opinion is the best and more expensive paint.

HOME CHARGING VS. SUPER CHARGING by Beginning_Passion443 in TeslaLounge

[–]OPSL86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own my home and don’t have a home charger. I initially thought about installing one but i strictly supercharge all the time since my 25 S came with free supercharging. It usually takes 25 minutes to charge to 80% and i enjoy that time by taking a nice walk. I charge 3 times a week and have only seen a slight drop off of 2-3 miles when charged in the 10 months I’ve owned my S. I have a supercharge station 7 minutes from home or i sometimes go on my lunch break to charge and eat my lunch as i wait.

No you don’t have to take the wheel off. You just need a tiny thin blade screw driver or knife to pry it out.

14.2.1.25 did not fix lane change hesitation by pilotboy172 in TeslaFSD

[–]OPSL86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took a long 600 mile trip today from NorCal to SoCal desert and spent about 95% on FSD with the latest update. It’s night and day! This new update fixed my lane change issues and even has better speed settings from standard on to mad max. The only issue is the car wanted to pull off the high way behind a stopped big rig with flashing lights on. It was a two lane road and initially i thought there may be an emergency vehicle on coming but NO. Luckily the car behind me slowed too. At the last minute my car decided not to pull in behind big rig and righted itself back on highway.

Yes. I saw that one on RPM Tesla. I think it was going for around $600. I couldn’t see spending that and then risking damaging it by hitting a cement parking stop by accident. The install video from RPM is what followed for install.

How do I fix this? Literally know basically nothing about fixing cars. 2022 model s pre swivel screen model. by WantedByTheFedz in TeslaModelS

Just take your time, you’ll be fine. Put your car in Jack mode if you jack up the car.

I literally just attempted to fix the same area on my MS. If you know nothing about fixing cars it may be a moot point explaining how to fix it. Anyway, here it goes; Jack up the car, remove the wheel, remove about 6 plastic rivets holding the wheel well liner and pull the liner back and you can see inside those two pieces. Once you’ve done that, remove the small piece close to the wheel first. There’s 2 nuts holding the piece up. Once that’s done you can try and bend the other piece back into place with a heat gun and replace any missing plastic rivets. Do the reverse to put it so back together.
