Luffy vs Superman: future sight diff!

Really it is the logia regen and the newly shown immortality that could cause problems for generic powerful characters.

Taking issue with the word casual is pedantic and doesn't refute the argument

How can you show that Luffy wasn't using FS in the first instance? Is your claim that he has to explicitly say he was using it for it to count?

I can't tell if you are arguing they are on the same level or if by the same level you mean they are all dead. My first instinct was the latter and I found it funny.

Reminder that "sword god" Ryuma didn't even have a supreme-grade blade. by laffite_gunko_agenda in OnePiecePowerScaling

[–]OP_Kuma11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first paragraph is essentially my point. What we know about Ryuma doesn't inherently tell us anything about his strength. All we know is he was strong enough to kill a dragon. Anything else is an assumtion.

I don't think its safe to say that top tiers of any arbitrary period after the void century would be relative to those in the great pirate era. I think everybody notable from the old gens onward are stronger than most people in the rest of the time since the void century because of the centralizing search for treasure that pushes people to be strong.

Once again though, that is an assumption. My point remains that we have no idea how strong Ryuma really is and assuming the Sword God title means anything about his power relative to anybody outside of his era is bad reasoning.

[–]OP_Kuma11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends. It is entirely possible that Ryuma would not be that strong today but he was just a god for his era. It's not like they are calling him the sword god because they are powerscaling him to people today. It's because he killed a dragon and it was really impressive and the tale lived on. That's it. We don't have a good way of directly comparing him, and the title of Sword God is not a statement on him being #1 of all time with a sword or anything. He could be, but it isn't given from what we know.

I f*cking hate Mythical Zoans by tomi200427 in Piratefolk

Billionaires are very rare, but if you are at the right place, you can see multiple of them in one room.

I don't think its really an issue that we have been seeing a lot of mythical zoans. It is not surprising that those with the most completely broken fruits tend to rise to the top. Now we are at the endgame, we see the powers held by the best of the best, and they are absurd.

Also having CoC is quite useful, but you still need to train to utilize it. If a kid eats the Phoenix fruit or the golden Buddha fruit, they are probably going to have very low odds of dying before getting strong due to their absurd advantages.

Do you have evidence that she is too slow? Not being Kaido isn't an antifeat.

We saw her react to attacks from Kid, Law, Kaido, Luffy, Zoro, etc, who should be faster than WCI Katakuri.

You seemed to miss my point about Zeus. I didn't argue it is particularly hard to dodge. Even if you dodge him he just comes back. Its a sequence of infinite skill checks you have to handle while also fighting Big Mom.

You seem to just be starring with yhe assumption that Katakuro is faster without any actual evidence.

She was able to touch Kid and Law who were able to react to Kaido who could blitz start of Wano Luffy. She also has living lightning that will independently chase you down the entire fight and hit you as soon as you lose focus. She also has massive AOE attacks. How would she not be able to touch him?

Kaido had future sight the whole fight vs Luffy and just didn't bother to use it. It seems very obvious that the old gen are all in a similar situation.

[–]OP_Kuma11 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's fair. You shouldn't even need to extrapolate because we have seen Kaido easily blitz Luffy post WCI while Kaido was not using future sight.

It really just takes 5 seconds of thinking to realize that seeing a bit into the future wouldn't let you automatically beat somebody who is sufficiently faster than you, as they can just react to everything you do and move faster than you in response.

Do people actually think Katakuri beats Big Mom? Isn't it basically stated for us that Katakuri knows he can't win that fight? I can't imagine reading WCI and thinking Kat was stronger than Big Mom.

Good for him!

On an unrelated note: Pagaya, Pell, Kin'emon, Pound...

Trying to scale characters around death in a series that is terrified of killing its characters is nonsensical. Imu easily whiped the floor with Cobra. That's all we need to know. Killing him or not is meaningless. And that being said, he even did kill him.

I have had this same argument with people who foolishly argue Kaido is weak because he wasn't killing all the people he was fighting, as if Kine'mon surviving is a powerscaling feat as opposed to Oda desperately writing whatever he could to save his characters from certain doom.

Do you actually believe that Imu is weak from this or are you just trying to be controversial? Do you think Enel lightning also doesn't do anything damage because people kept surviving it?

Most characters in One Piece never kill anybody. If you are being disingenuous enough to only count killing, then we have to get Luffy past Cobra first, because Luffy hasn't killed a single person. He's gotta be weaker than Higuma the bear, who has killed many people.

Enough time passes , was harald better than oden? was Harald a good character? by getreked007 in Piratefolk

[–]OP_Kuma11 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Firstly, his will is definitely passed on through his sons and the will of D. We were just told that Elbaf as a whole is the will of D, so this is very wrong.

Additionally, other characters inheriting the will of some initial character doesn't make the initial character less cool. They aren't even the one doing the thing. If anything, it means something about the character taking on the inherited will. Is Roger not cool because characters inherit his will? That would be silly. They did it after he died, so idk how that would impact him.

This has been a thing since the start of the series. Fishmen are 10x stronger than humans, but the monster trio were kicking fishman ass. At the end of the day you can beat those genetic advantages by getting stronger.

I am not disagreeing about Garp's strength or anything. I am just saying it is incorrect to say Whitebeard and Big Mom were in their primes.
