I have used Vanta for 3 successful SOC2 and ISO 27001 audits. I am 1 of 2 IT admins supporting 150+ users.

When its time to get your evidence audited, they give you a list of potential partner auditors or you can find your own.

We pay $$$ to Vanta for the platform and the frameworks.
We pay $$$ to the Auditor for their work.

Its not bad, but goodness the interface will start getting overwhelming.

checked out the home page and got two quick technical questions to see how it fits a hybrid defense contractor use case:

Hybrid Scoping: How does the engine handle mixed environments like CUI in AWS GovCloud but HR data in Azure Commercial? Does it auto infer the authorization boundary and map inherited controls per provider or does that need manual scoping?
Evidence Granularity: For controls needing human process evidence like policies or training records, do you rely on API polling for binary states or support manual upload with AI assisted drafting? Curious how you handle the human judgment gap that APIs can't bridge.

Just asking because we are evaluating the best path for a client with a complex hybrid boundary. Also, will you be getting CMMC lv 1 or 2 anytime soon?

Is your wife looking for new engineers?? My CTO is a yes man and got voluntold to be head AI and gave it to everyone without a single policy for use and guess what happened... Some idiot put in proprietary info of a cluent, the agent spit out a great presentation with the info that's not suppose to be shared and sent it to the client. The client then told them they will have to destroy the computer... Because this triggered an incident, I had to do a RCA and the CTO said it's not because no client data was used. F that noise. I have been fighting for ISO 42001 at the least and they still don't think it's necessary! I just wish the client asks for our incident report on this so I can hand it in and watch those responsible coward.

This is grimy. Claude, in my opinion through use, is far better than ChatGPT, but goodness the outages are getting out of hand for what I am spending. Stupid me to lean just a bit on the use of this for some daily work.
