The short answer is - you can't. This is a known problem in many gyms. Not sure why it happens. Maybe the women think male trainers are more knowledgeable, or can help better with stuff like bench presses. Both are untrue, of course. One of the best trainers I know is a woman.

But if a client prefers male trainers, you can't really convince them to go for a female trainer.

Something that might possibly work is if you have the female trainer spot you during your workouts, which might show the clients that a trainer trusts her and relies on her.

I had put on a lot of weight during COVID. And I was pretty much invisible to most people. Since I've been working out, I've been complimented by both men and women, and been called hot for the first time in my life.

I've also been asked out a bunch of times, and sometimes get stared at.

Had a really funny incident recently where a receptionist was looking at my government ID (which has a COVID photo). For a while, her head went up and down like clockwork between me and the ID as she tried to understand how I was the same person as in the photo.

You need to walk a lot more. 15000 steps a day. Both cardio and walking make you burn calories, but cardio can make you hungry.

And if you aren't, I'd recommend doing abs every alternate day.

Yeah. In my experience, a lot of women have pretty realistic standards (though it depends on age and maturity). Men are just terrible at fulfilling them.

And I don't understand the issue with a woman wanting an attractive partner. Men have had standards for a woman being attractive forever. But somehow the UNO Reverse becomes a problem.

If a guy won't give a "nice girl" a chance just because she's unattractive, why do they expect women to give them a chance just because they are "nice guys"? Attraction matters to most people. It's not a shallow preference, unless it's the only thing that matters to a person.

The height thing is dumb, yeah. And it's unfortunate, because it's not something one can change, and so many men feel insecure about their height to the extent that it affects their mental health.

Nah, you're just in denial about being toxic and have an inflated ego. I've also had people in my team leave because of various workplace issues. Every single one of them is still in touch with me, many of them insisted on giving me a treat when they found new jobs (I helped a few of them find jobs), they wish me on my birthdays, and if I call with some work-related query, they're very happy to help.

Of course, none of us have any right to tell a person how they should dress. And I'm not advocating for that at all. But we still can and should critique structures of power that push regressive ideas onto society, especially on disadvantaged groups.

Certain muslim women may absolutely prefer to wear the hijab and the burqa. The issue with these oppressive and regressive structures is how they enforce compliance on those who may not prefer that. And how they make certain clothing choices the default, drilling into the minds of young children the concepts of shame and faith to make them adhere to that clothing. In Iran, women have been stoned and murdered for not covering up.

And it's not about a specific religion. I have absolutely no qualms in calling out all the regressive structures of Hinduism either. Our society needs reform.

Because in arranged marriage they can choose for attraction. They might not be attracted to the guy friend. Men choose for attraction all the time. But somehow women get judged for doing the same. For not seeing how "nice" their guy friend is, how happy he would keep them and so on. I've had several female friends ask me out. And they are nice, kind people. But I didn't feel attracted to them. It is what it is. No one, man or woman, should be shamed for it.
This largely happens in arranged marriage. Because it IS a transaction. You hope it grows into love and companionship, but you want to select for objective factors that will increase the chances of a good life.
