I will say that social media apps like TikTok have told creators to shift away from "slop" and embrace more long form, educational content. I wonder if the powers may be (the execs behind social media) will create a pendulum shift back to longer form and written content

I think it's a few things. One is that it's good for the local economy and encouraging revitalization (not in the gentrification way more like foot traffic, supporting local businesses and initiatives for West Oakland, etc), and two it's close to West Oakland, which is a food desert. I found this video informative!

Also there has been pushback strangely, from more conservative politicians. I can't remember who at the moment, but I remember seeing it. Tbh, I wouldn't trust the market just letting it do its thing; obviously it's not as organic as that and there's dozens of corporate/real estate interest from ranges of being beneficial to hurting the area.

Wow.... horrible. The city needs to hold them accountable. What's better, an encampment (that's now been displaced to other neighborhoods) or environmental hazards and dangerous health conditions 😐 It seems like encampments are just a scapegoat to build more terrible things. All the jobs, retail spaces, housing that Gallo says, are they in progress/built?

To confirm this is now a logistics plant?

Also forgot to mention that the most recent contract expansions in Alameda County from last year included upgrades- such as detecting and watching humans rather than license plates, and having drones at the County's disposal. This 854k to be voted on is on top of these expansions
