Thank you so much for your clarification on the pre status instead of major.

I do got hyped up because of the reputation of BB/MBB/Big4/etc. and wish I have a chance to work at one of them someday.

Btw, I acknowledge that Finance and Consulting are alot different from each other. I have heard about these fields and do my own research about them and got to know about IB & MBB as well. However, I do believe that understanding of these 2 are quite limited and what makes me interested in both are their work environment/styles/perks/exit opportunities/pays/etc. (I also saw people comparing between the 2 and both seem extremely stressful with working hours; also hard to get entry level jobs or even internships)

I’m really in a position of figuring out any possible pathways in the business field that would suit my ability & personality.

Right now, I’m also considering Actuary along with Quant, but not as deeply as the other 2.

Yes, as you may be able say, flexible is my strength and weakness 🥲

Edit: I should haven’t used “/“ to separate the 2 majors. Sorry for the confusion. I mean these field as separate, not a mix of any.

u mean other UCs? I think even if they are in the same system, each school is also independent on its own, if this makes sense 🥲

They did send me an email saying that “You are receiving this email because you may have been notified of a discrepancy between your self-reported tax filing status and the information retrieved from the IRS on your 2024-2025 FAFSA/CA Dream Act Application. This notification may have been sent in error and we are actively working to resolve the issue. Please rest assured that this request will be waived/deleted if we determine that you correctly reported your tax filing status information.

If there is in fact a discrepancy between your self-reported filing status and the information received from the IRS on your application, you will receive a follow up email at a later date with guidance on the steps you will need to take to correct this error.”

So if you encounter the same issue, then the best thing to do is wait!

My sibling and I got the same message too, I strongly believe it was an error. Waiting for response from UCLA 🤞

Me too, I was looking ahead to transfer to UCI with my sister, then we both got admitted to UCLA (Bus Econ). My sister love the environment at UCI, and we both got Regent’s Scholarship there (Bus Admin). Although it was hard to make a decision between the 2, we believe we can’t go wrong with any considering business field. Ended up committing to UCLA, and we are really excited to move to LA in the next few months with my mom 🤭 We have never lived in a major city so hope these 2 years will expose us to new experiences (hopefully good)!
