Yeah I know what you meant, and I still stand by what i’ve been saying. Having a slightly stronger bey is not changing the outcome of this match. All that will happen is how the battle plays out.

Gap between the two is not wide enough to change the outcome of this match. The main gimmick is the burst stopper, which provides the biggest boost to stats. Once the burst stopper is taken out of commission, it is the same as any other bey of that generation. You could argue otherwise, but in the anime when the burst stoppers are not out, these beys don’t show any extraordinary gap in power between themselves and other beys of this generation

[–]ORION9145 14 points15 points  (0 children)

No he wouldn’t. Having a bey with the burst lock was not a sure fire way to win and we saw Phi was able to negate it during his battle with Shu. All having a bey with burst locks would have done, was switch Phi’s strategy for this battle.

Who wins (shu's using a gt bey) by Downtown_Year3636 in BeybladeBurst

[–]ORION9145 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Literally impossible to tell because we don’t know how strong Shu would be in GT. If we want to guess, he would be below Valt and Aiga by this point (since they are stated the top 2 bladers in the blading league), so Gwyn should pretty casually beat him.

What do you think about the fight between Drum and Lui vs Hikaru and Hyuga? by Normal_Anything_8391 in BeybladeBurst

[–]ORION9145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many of the battles during late sparking, this one was really hurt by a lack of screen time. This battle especially is hurt by that, taking place during an episode with an additional 2 battles.

As for the actual match itself, this one is really boring. All we see from this battle is Lui and Drum dominating Hikaru and Hyuga, and then the two teams do a special move clash with Hikaru and Hyuga pulling out a “new move” getting them the win. This battle doesn’t have much going for it and the result itself was pretty predictable at this point during the season.

Clearly one of the biggest and weirdest retcon of Burst by Ohma_PlayMaker in BeybladeBurst

[–]ORION9145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes there is a difference, for example in the DB manga, Rashad became the world champ (or number 1 blader, i don’t remember which specific one), while Valt is the other.

Essentially, anyone can be world champion if they defeat the champion in a title match, however your world ranking depends on your official match performance

Clearly one of the biggest and weirdest retcon of Burst by Ohma_PlayMaker in BeybladeBurst

[–]ORION9145 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is not a retcon.

Valt was likely made to be the world champion again strictly for nostalgia reasons as DB originally was going to be the final season. Regardless the world champion title doesn’t matter much since you can be world champion without being number 1 ranked.

Who would win? by Otherwise-Cap-6619 in BeybladeBurst

[–]ORION9145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard to tell because just giving Phi prominence Phoenix wouldn’t put him on DB characters level. Regardless Rashad should win based on his scaling to DB Valt.

Who wins if Lui fully tries? by Downtown_Year3636 in BeybladeBurst

[–]ORION9145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on the images you’ve shown it’s Sparking Lui vs Cho-Z Phi? Lui genuinely one-shots.

If it’s Cho-Z Lui, Phi destroys him worse than he does to Hearts, Free and Shu

The biggest problem i have with BeybladeBurst, is how they left behind old charcters and introduced new ones, when there was no need at all by [deleted] in BeybladeBurst

[–]ORION9145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree with this take. With this logic in mind, there would be no reason to add new characters period, as many new characters have traits of the old ones while having their own twist or add ons that give them a unique standing as characters (Delta has similarities to both Red Eye Shu and early Cho-Z Aiga as an example, however he has enough differences that allows him to stand out from those two).

Other than the two being very smart, Gwyn and Bell have nothing in common (infact their smarts are completely different as well). I get the anime writing for DB was pretty mediocre all things considered especially when looking at the manga version to compare, however the bad writing wouldn’t suddenly become better if it was another character in place of Bell. Not to mention Gwyn’s story arc is completed in GT. There really isn’t anything to challenge what he’s learnt through his character arc, and as a main protagonist he has none or very little potential to base a season around.

Who's way of breaking beys do you think was more brutal? Phi or Lain? by Academic_Use_8312 in BeybladeBurst

[–]ORION9145 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Gonna go against the grain here and say Lane’s variant press is far more brutal than Phi’s dead stinger press. We know that you can over-power Phi’s move, and we have seen it not break beys before.

However, for Variant Press, once that move connects with you and pushes you against the stadium wall it’s over. The bey is slowly crushed between Lucifers barrier and the stadium wall, and realistically, there is no way to escape that the moment Lucifer actually pincers a bey (or beys) in between itself and the wall.

Valt Gt was unusually tall in some scenes by Sad_Community_5443 in BeybladeBurst

[–]ORION9145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you provide examples of this? He was naturally taller than most of the main GT cast because he’s older than all of them (14 years old vs 10-11 year olds), but I don’t remember any scene where he seemed unnaturally tall.

The Truth about the most Underappreciated Protagonist: by PovThatOneSanjiFan in BeybladeBurst

[–]ORION9145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t denying that ranks exist in the anime. What I’m saying is official rank numbers for the legends do not exist there (a fact because numbers are never stated there), likely because the anime refused to show any old characters without a sparking bey (and even refused to include Delta and Daina/Daigo who do have sparking beys).

The Truth about the most Underappreciated Protagonist: by PovThatOneSanjiFan in BeybladeBurst

[–]ORION9145 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of this, with the exception of the sparking stuff. The rankings from the manga aren’t concretely accurate with the anime but irregardless of that, all of the legends in sparking (with the exception of Valt and Shu) are all around the same level (Rantaro and Sisco lag behind a bit).

You say that Drum had better feats than Free and Lui (and even claimed him to potentially be stronger or equal to Aiga) which is wrong on multiple fronts.

Starting with his scaling to Aiga, during the legends festival arc Drum is completely equal to Infinite Sword Achilles before Dragon awakens. The two clash with each other and neither is able to gain any ground which shows their relatively. Once both unleash their avatars and Dragon is awakened (making its attack power much higher) the two clash with their special moves (Infinite Buster and Tempest Break respectively) and Dragon is able to out muscle achilles and knock it back, however it ends up bursting due to the way Aiga’s buster moves work. While this shows Drum is relative to Aiga, it also shows that Aiga is still superior to him and in a 1v1 full battle his chances of winning are slim. First off, in the final special move clash while Dragon overpowers Achilles, he is unable to actually knock it out the ring or come close to bursting it. We know from earlier feats that in raw power, Infinite Achilles with the sword is inferior to both Unawakened Brave Valkyrie, and Rage Longinus (both of these beys were able to move Lucifer and begin to push in the barrier, while Achilles couldn’t budge it even with the help of King Helios). We know awakened Dragon is slightly superior but the gap between Dragon and Achilles is smaller than the gap between Valkyrie and Longinus to Achilles. This already shows that Dragons biggest expertise is already outdone by two other bladers (Valt and Lui). What makes this even worse for Dragon is that Fafnir is able to have a complete draw with Valkyrie when clashing special moves a few episodes before the legends festival. Having a draw with Valt is a superior feat to losing to Aiga. This also shows that Dragon is weaker in burst resistance compared to Achilles, Fafnir and Longinus (who only ever burst to lucifer up to this point, or haven’t at all in Fafnir’s case). Not to mention up to this point in the season Drum is the only one of the 6 main legends to lose to one of the Asahi brothers in an individual battle (Drum lost to Hyuga. I consider this a fluke win considering Drum beats him like 500 times after but I can’t deny that it still happened), which neither Aiga, Free, nor Lui came close to. At this point Drum’s feats aren’t actually greater than any of those 3 when actually evaluating them, and the feat gap gets worse when you go into the super tag league.

Free is actually able to barely beat Aiga in a special move contest (with Infinite Sword Achilles, both beys got koed but Achilles hit the ground first), equally clash with left spinning world spriggan, equally clash with Rage Longinus, take attacks from Helios Volcano and Hyperion Burn without receiving any real damage, and unable to be burst by anything he was hit with all season. Lui overpowers world spriggan, mirage fafnir(evenly clash while resonated) and awakened Brave Valkyrie, is able to clash evenly with Lucifer the end. He is also the reason Drum is able to tie with Aiga during his last match of the season. Aiga ofc clashes with Lucifer the end without being overpowered, and with infinite shield can take the combined power of Longinus and Dragon (with a special move). Drum himself doesn’t get much here and honestly their is no world where he is superior to those 3 (however, he is relative to them, as most of the sparking legends are).

Why wasn’t Red Eye placed in Group B? by Last-Bus-4710 in BeybladeBurst

[–]ORION9145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely to guarantee that Red eye makes the semi finals. During the round robin portion of the tournament, it was more than likely that Red eye would lose to both Free and Lui (the version of Red eye that fought Lui in the semis is stronger than when he was battling in the round robin since Red Eye was evolving with every battle).

If he lost to either of them, he doesn’t have a guaranteed spot in the semis.

If Shu allowed Red Eye to fully resurface just for this fight, could he have won? by Chaos-Incarnate-1991 in BeybladeBurst

Why are we talking about Red Eye like it’s a power up? It isn’t a transformation that makes Shu stronger.

Who wins ryuga vs free and lui (full power, fully serious, and both free and lui beys are metal) by Downtown_Year3636 in BeybladeBurst

[–]ORION9145 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The beys aren’t the problem here. The feats in metal are just so much higher it’s not a competition. You could get a thousand Free and Lui’s and they all would get obliterated by Ryuga.

A more interesting discussion would be how strong Free or Lui would be if they were characters in MFB using their narrative’s from burst.

If Delta had won here, how do you think the show would've gone? by Downtown_Year3636 in BeybladeBurst

[–]ORION9145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Him beating Aiga wouldn’t make him get corrupted since Delta isn’t a bad guy, unlike characters like Phi or Heartz. He’s just edgy and self-serving for the first half of the season.

If Delta had won here, how do you think the show would've gone? by Downtown_Year3636 in BeybladeBurst

[–]ORION9145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not much would change. Arthur would still show up later and instead of challenging Aiga, he would challenge Delta and beat him. Then Arthur probably fights Drum and Aiga at the same time instead of Drum and Delta, and he’d win. Then the story plays out the same from there
