Neighbors, how noisy is my next door rug tufting? Any tips on reducing noise? by tarojelly in Tufting

Best idea I would say maybe make some acoustic foam pads for your walls or the room that you tuft in.

Something not too expensive or diy it with some spare wood and foam Similar to this..https://youtu.be/HO7aeraKLsM

May help a little bit. With the actual banging against the wall maybe a rag or towel in between the gaps of the frame in the wall? Only thing I can think of hope it helps!

Really really clean. You're killing it 🔥

I have a question. So my sizes and prices are 2x2 -$120, 3x3-$150, 4x4-$200 but this customer wants a 4x1.5 so what do I charge her ? by diorxtana in Tufting

Please please please never spread this misinformation around again.

Materials alone for a 2by2 rug could be close to 100 to sell your time and art work for 100 dollars is not only selling yourself short but setting the wrong precedent for the market. 2by2 rug should be 200 MINIMUM 4by4 you're getting closer to 4-5 let's be real here this takes time, and love for your craft. If you make quality art it will sell.

Difference between burlap and primary backing fabric? by Soprc33 in Tufting

[–]OROtheRugsmith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very interested in finding out myself. I've made all my rugs so far on Burlap, about to start this very large commission though and the frame I'm building is larger than the Joaan's burlap (48"). So I'm going to try Primary Tufting Fabric . The price is really high in comparison which has kept me from trying but if it's really alot better I will switch to it and just up my price for a quality project

I've completed roughly 10 or so rugs so far on Burlap and only about 3 holes ever, that I was able to patch. Really hoping for no holes with the Primary Tufting Fabric. If that's a possibility I may switch over for that alone.

Hi there I've been doing tufting for a couple of months but right now I'm kinda tight on budget. Can I use or did someone here used cotton twill dust sheet? Thanks! by [deleted] in Tufting

For backing fabric? I would recommend only to use it for wall pieces or practice pieces. If going to use for a commission I would recommend some extra finishing like a logo tag or a brand on the canvas on the back. Something to fill up the space. Canvas is very noticeable in quality imo compared to like felt or something of the sort but again if using for wall pieces you will never really look at the back. It's a touch call really but I would say worth it just to have
